LHL: We admit to not having 20/20 foresight
Sigh.... they still don't get it. It is not just about having perfect foresight. It is also about earnestly listening to the masses and not just dismissing everything they don't like to hear as noise.
As Punggol East has shown, the MIW cannot just toss a few carrots our way every time an election comes round and expect to stay the course. They also cannot just say 'ok, ok, we did wrong, we're sorry' every time they get a poor election result. For the sake of this nation, I seriously hope they learn to step down from their high pedestals and be more willing to lower themselves down to the level of the masses.
While Punggol East was just one seat in Parliament, it says a lot that a medical specialist representing the dominant party could lose to an ah lian sales trainer in a four-corner fight by an 11% margin. LTK was wrong to say that Punggol East would be a slap in the face for the MIW..... it was more like a knee to the groin.
Unless the MIW does a complete overhaul and be genuinely repentant (and make amends) for past mistakes, they had better be prepared for a chokeslam, a clothesline, and an over-the-top-rope in GE 2016.

I fully agree with this. They must stop the illusion that anything negative = noise or minority. Those ppl working for them must also wake up their bloody idea. Many of them just feed the top guys info that everything is doing well becoz it will reflect better performance on them...

They wont be willing to lower themselves. They ownself think they needed some form of dignity or watever bull crap. Just look at the pay issue, lower abit and one of them said need to very seriously consider becoz will affect standard of living, while telling us that we all can live with a much much lower wage but themselves cannot. Another said high pay is required so got dignity when compared to other country ppl, high pay = no corruption etc etc reason more than the water in the ocean...

They will be massively getting more new citizen so that these new citizen can vote for them...

If they say anything other than 'We need to introduce curbs to immigration and be more selective with regards to who we allow in'......
..... then they have not learnt their lesson, and LHL was not being sincere with what he said.

I'm not optimistic at all. It'll probably perpetuate the 'more people for more growth' (regardless of their origin) fallacy.
curb immigration i agree
there is a very high chance the MIW will not be able to have an absolute majority come 2016

Preliminary analysis suggests that the MIW is in denial mode and fully refusing to appreciate the situation.
TCH, for instance, insisted that the loss of Punggol East was due to local and not national issues. Please lah, Rivervale Mall is just one shopping centre. National issues like cost of living, transport, immigration, and education weigh far more heavily on the minds of the electorate.
So yeah, plenty of daft people in the MIW.
I challenge them to prove me wrong. I know that chances are that I'll be disappointed.

As Acid pointed it, the underlings throw smoke bombs and fudge up the feedback to save their backsides. If the people in power try to talk to the ground there's a lot of wayang and they are kept away from the dissenters.

Ok, that's it.
The White Paper on Population: 6.9 million by 2030
They're begging to get their butts kicked in 2016.
Our current infrastructure very hard to support 6.9m...
Not only traffic and transport and housing...
Education, food, prices (the surge in demand cause prices to go up), signal issues (imagine ur internet speed for both mobile and wired goes even slower with more users)...
They are attempting to drive us into the shytzone and retire !??!?!
Then they can claim during their period nthing happens but after their period got problem... ... ... wait, wasn't that the same tactic that Auntie Saw did?

where do you live now? i guess they are trying to drive us to not retire and work till grave.
i think the MIW might just have lost a lot of seat in the next GE..
so much so that maybe even the PM may lose
