Frankly speaking, prior to this idiotic White Paper I thought that the MIW had simply lost the way, and like any wayward traveller, could be led back to the right path.
But now I rank them on the same level as SDP. Seriously.
I thought only Chee could come up with this level of stupidity.
I think it's just sheer stubborness. They refuse to let go of certain tenets such as meritocracy (recruiting only those who have done well), minimal welfare and letting market forces dictate prices and make services more "efficient".

when shit happens and the people KPKB about it, the first layer are the grassroots lea-duhs who have a vested interest in making sure their privileges are secure so they will filter the shit to make it less smelly to the next level, who are the Exec Committee of the constituency
the Exec Committee also have vested interests as they have the ear of the "advisors" who are the MPs.. so the filter the less smelly shit even further to make it less toxic..
the MPs who also have a vested interest promoting themselves and making sure everything is "nice and dandy" then have a look at the non-smelly, non-toxic shit and say "hey.. this is not a bad fertiliser" and then dress up and package the "fertiliser" telling the Perm Secs and the 2nd minsters/ministers of state to tell the ministers that it is good fertiliser and we should promote the use of the stuff...
the 2nd ministers/ministers of state who want to be seen as good loyal yesmen to the ministers then put a nice box on the fertiliser and tell the ministers "this is great plant food and will promote growth"
the minister hoping to get even bigger bonuses and "carry" the PM then report to the PM, promoting the stuff that "this is the most amazing new stuff which will result in growth.. and when it grows, we can give ourselves bigger bonuses"
and this is how shit becomes policy
The muppets run his FB page and block the negative comments, rendering his social media efforts useless.

bacon. bacon is the answer
In the meantime, I'm really sick and tired of people claiming that WP is the MIW's 'B Team' or that they have been too docile in Parliament.
Please lah. We have no use for Taiwanese-style politics while parliamentary sessions are as good as WWE events. On my part, I am happy with simply rocking the boat.
I do NOT want an opposition strategy which will scuttle the boat, machine-gun the survivors in the water, and drop depth charges at all those that went down with the boat.

A few years ago, I remember reading a copy of Teenage magazine.
In the classifieds, there were ads like 'To the girl I saw on bus 169 in that pink top at 2 pm on 4th January, I'd like to get to know you, please SMS 9876 5432.....'
I laughed my head off at ads like that. ![]()

I laughed my head off at ads like that.
There are 2 seperate cases I know of (on forums), which in the end the poster DID manage to find the intended person, and in 1 case, they married few years later...
As for magazine, it was quite a popular "try-your-luck" method during my secondary school days with the Teenage and Teens magazine...
And fudge... Sorry but this is simply too much for me to resist... I gotta ask you this: why are u reading teenage few years ago...? how many years exactly is "few" *rub chin*

*me adds alkaline to the acid* ![]()
'A few' meaning many years ago lah...... ![]()
The last time I read it was in the Army. Some fella brought it to camp.
We would all huddle around those 'try your luck' ads and laugh our heads off.
My buddies actually considered sending some troll SMSes, but I persuaded them that it would be too cruel to do so.

and i'm sure they did send those sms-s!

Going for a long holiday over the CNY weekend.
That said, I'm facing a really busy time this week to make up for lost time.
