  Just got back from Jakarta last night. Spent the entire CNY there.

  I haven't been to Indonesia in a while, and dealing with their currency, I have a newfound sense of empathy with sufferers of zero stroke condition.

  My empathy does not extend to their smoking habits, and I find their penchance for chain-smoking in airconditioned malls full of flammable materials extremely disturbing.

  This was especially more so in one of their malls where they sold all manner of religious items like prayer mats and shawls. So many of the stallholders were smoking that I was wheezing and choking from all that smoke. The anti-smoking signs apparently existed just to be mocked at. So much for being religious.

  Well, they are notorious for being a smoker country...

  Didn't sometime back there was outcry becoz of smoking toddlers???

  On a related note, I've read that the Indonesian central bank is working on doing a currency redenomination next year by crossing out three zeroes.

  Seriously, what took them so long? I swear my mind went cuckoo when I was at a bookstore there and trying to pay 177 500 rupiah in small change.

  How is their coins like? I mean their denomination.

  Imagine paying 177500 with 1ruppiah coin...
