Valentine's Day is nothing special.

On my part I've encountered irresponsible teammates before. All that was needed was for me to directly threaten them with excommunication with zero marks to get them back in line.
This fella on the other hand is just as irresponsible. WTF, waiting to the last minute to do his job, and offering to pay someone else to finish it?
Like I said, pot calling the kettle black.

Reminds me of the time I was teaching a class. It was the last lesson of the semester. I was collecting their assignments for grading.
Me: Okay, there are 60 of you, but I only have 40-plus scripts here. Who else has not handed in their assignment?
Class: *no response*
Me: Anyone else who has yet to hand it their assignment?
Class: *no response*
Me: Okay, I have to submit your CA marks this afternoon. Those of you who did not hand in their assignment will get an instant zero for CA......

How come I hardly come across such things in my tertiary life, even from a not-known-for-mugging faculty?
Most of us do the work and hand them up as instructed.

You see things differently from the viewpoint of an undergrad. You think that pretty much everyone else is as conscientious and hardworking as you are.
But when you're a graduate teaching assistant, you get to see the whole spectrum of students. They range from Stephen Hawking-wannabes to people who don't deserve to be in uni.
I've been teaching for the past seven semesters. Believe me when I say I've seen it all.

Sigh..... Monday again.
Anyway, I was pretty surprised at the turnout to the mass rally at Hong Lim Park last Saturday.
I expected only about a couple hundred at most, and even that would have already been considered a minor victory. 4000 - 5000 is certainly impressive.
Of course, don't expect anything to change just because of that rally. That said, the discontent on the ground is real and cannot be ignored.
