Quan Zhen and Zhengyi

Hello, I've done some research on Taoism recently. As I really know nothing about Taoism (except perhaps Tao Te Ching
) I did a search on Taoist sects and history.
So basically Zhang Dao Ling formed the Zheng Yi sect (focusing on ritual, alchemy, and respects the spirits), while the Wang Chonghang formed the Quan Zhen sect, focusing on renunciation, practise, meditations, etc.
I'm guessing that Zheng Yi sect is the predominant form of Taoism in Singapore (am I right?) - if so, how do we recognise if a Taoist temple belongs to Zhengyi or Quan Zhen? Also is Quan Zhen Taoism common in Singapore?
Also just as Buddhism conducts dharma talks on Buddhist teachings, do the Taoist temples (especially Quan Zhen side) also conduct talks on Taoist teachings? Where can I find them? Also do you go to a particular temple most often? Do you all have a "spiritual guide" like a Taoist master?
I often ask my friend Thusness on some spiritual matters. He also posted in my forum topics especially on conversations with longchen. He experienced what is called commonly known as "Tao", "Pure Presence", "Pure Consciousness", "Pure Awareness", "Brahman" (hindu), "God" (christian mysticism), "True Self", "Buddha Nature", about 20 years ago and has since entered into many forms of spirituality (even many different cults etc). From ming jian xing yang, he entered Christianity, left, then Taoism. (he was also interested in Hinduism although he notes that Buddhist 'Emptiness' doctrine supercedes the concept of Brahman) Until 12 years back he was under an "experienced Taoist master" although he has now focused on Buddhist meditations. He has commented that Lao Tzu was an enlightened being (as did my master), although my master was not too supportive of Zhang Tian Shi's sect (I believed I mention it before) bcos of certain practices.
In the past I have also asked my friend Thusness (who mentioned that Taoism is different from Tao sect), about these matters before,

I've chatted about Taoism with my Buddhist friend who has quite some knowledge on it. It appears that Quanzhen masters are rare in Singapore (is that so?)... and Quan Zhen is a 'purist' sect, which is very strict. How strict is it? -

Zheng Yi sect, or orthodox oneness, founded by Celestial Master Zhang Daoling was the first sect of Taoism and it was the time when Taoism was officially a religion.
Zhang Daoling had recieved vision from Tai shang lao jun in Sichuan and thus formed the religion based on Tao Te Ching and incooperate folk customs and oriental traditions.
Other sects rises up later on, such as Linbao sect, shang qing sect etc..but subsequently, they all classified under Zheng Yi. Zheng yi can refer to the particular sect, or it can also regard as a branch.
Quan zhen, too, can be consider a sect, or also a branch. Cos under quan zhen, there are sub sects too.
Zheng Yi focus on talismanic, rituals arts etc.. Quan zhen is more monastic, mediatation.
But both are still part of Taoism, and are orthodox sect. In Northern china, most sect are Quanzhen, in southern china, except hk, and including se asia..mostly are zheng yi.
Quanzhen sect in Singapore is still new and not too much. although i personally belongs to quan zhen.
No matter what, all taoist sect respect San Qing, highest divine and regard tai shang lao jun as the incarnation of the great Tao. -

That's interesting. Do you belong to any 'subsect'? What is the emphasize on?
Also are there any temples that are emphasize on Quan zhen in Singapore? -

im from Quanzhen branch, Longme(dragon gate) sect. founded by Patriarch Qiu Chang Chun(Qiu Chuji), one of the 7 disicple of Master Wang Chong Yang, founder of Quanzhen Taoism.
Im not a priest. But a initiated Taoist. Initiated into the religion and the sect. -
