my personal view is gloria is entitled to her opinions...the guy who expressed his love for her is basically a good guy but in this world not all good guys make suitable husbands...there's the financial angle...right now she feels he's not in a position to financially support her...and she's entitled to choose who she wants as her husband...if a girl accepted every offer for marriage from a guy, there would be a ratio of 5 husbands to each eligible girl...because the proportion of guys proposing to girls, as opposed to the other way round, is much, much higher...if she feels in her heart that despite his good intentions she's not ready to accept him, you can't force her to love him....she's only thinking of her future...the moral of the story is no matter how many korean love serials you watch on tv, the overriding consideration is always monetary based....i think we'll be deluding ourselves if we thought otherwise...so guys out there....better yourself then look for a suitable girl...take it as a motivating factor...dont worry, there's always the right one for you once you've achieved your financial aims...

well...its kinda sad for the guy but its quite true from her point of view..
in this world and society now...Money is not everything..but without money is really something which we cannot not have...
unless gloria one day met with some incidents which changed her surroundings and lifestyle...she wont know the feeling of the guy and also how money is such a luxury to a normal working guy now...
shes blessed with good surroundings, therefore she wont understand why the guy is doing all this...
But this guy's character is one of the very rare species type...to give up such a guy i should say its quite a waste..
but its still gloria's choice..we couldnt force her thou..

gloria, one of my good frds used to be very rich, his assets amounted to at least 10-20 times you strike the spore big sweep..he dun live in a big house
and ate at foodcourt and hawker centres and drives a nissan..unfortuately his overseas business failed and now he has joined the working class..otherwise can recommend to you..hee..

This is a very interesting thread... We all now know that such materialistic gals do exist.. but again, maybe she is just still too young to know one thing or two about the reality of life....
Hope she would learn to be more appreciative of the old folks at the Homes and the 'poor people' in HDB flats....
As they say, education starts at home... so to all those rich parents-to-be...please invest your time and effort to educate your children to respect and appreciate the less fortunate in our society... Otherwise, I am afraid we would see more of 'Gloria' in the future. -
What is materialistic? Is wanting to live in a HDB flat materialistic? Is wanting to have proper clean clothes materialistic? Is eating good food being materialistic?
Though you people talk about not being materialistic, in essence, we're living in a very materialistic society as everything around us cost money to. Money makes the world go round.
There's always a certain degree of financial support needed to start a family. Otherwise, there has to be great sacrifices... Its possible to support a family of four with only $1.5k. It just means living on rent, no movies, no tv... eating rice or porridge with salted fish and egg. But who wants to struggle? -

What is there to be frustrated about? I realised your main aim is to get a guy who has looks and money and everything else but love. YOU ARE JUST CONTRADICTING YOURSELF. YOU WANT SOMEONE TO TALK TO, WHO CARES FOR YOU, WHO LOVES YOU, IS RICH AND HAS THE LOOKS. You are just asking for the impossible. No wonder you are so frustrated.
