gamer pls help me

  pls help me, i just buy half-life 2
  
  but i hv install the game in my notebook still black screen.
  incluesive on counter strike also .
  
  anyway i have download half way of strem 88% then i click cancel
  
  it is this problem.
  
  my notebook is P4 2.0ghz
  ATI 7500 video 32MB
  512MB DDR - ram
  direct X 9.0C

  In order to play half-life you will need to download stream, you can download it from file planet or any of the ftp servers. I would suggest trying to download stream.
  
  As for installing half-life 2, if you had no problem installing it. Then it should work fine.

  Haha.... I dun ever see it as I have the program do an auto start up to play CS.

  those that i play in normally dust2
  
  anyway now i playing cs source.. getting used to the cartoony characters...
  
  anyway.. to topic starter.. for me la... playing hl2 on a laptop is a no go... unless ur willing to go real low on details for smooth(i hope) play..

  Personally i would not recommend u using lappy to play games, coz the graphics arnt nice, and as mentioned, unless u r willing 2 go down to barebones for the graphics.
  
  As for your problem, u can try re-installing it, get steam and then updating again, but let me warn you, steam updates takes a million years to finish for certain pple.
