i've been to south island. breathtaking views like milfred sound, kawaru gorge, that place where u go view penguinns at night i forgot the name...and queenstown..superb place..i went to visit the aj hacket( im not sure if thats the correct spelling) bungee thing on top of this bridge but didnt try..i heard u gotta book in advance... but be warned..NZ can be very taxing on the wallet...great place. have fun!

If you work Legally, you will have to pay tax up at least 20%, minimum wage is about NZD 9, after tax will leave you about NZD 7.
Accommodation: Staying in backpackers for a nite cost you about NZD 14 to NZD 20, depending where you are.
Food: Mac and KFC are same price as SG, only in NZD dollars. If you are thinking of having Asian food like fried noodle or chicken rice, 1 plate cost you about NZD 7 onwards.
Shopping: GST is 12.5%
Leisure: Sky diving cost about NZD 150-NZD 250 depending on where you are Bungee cost at least NZD 99, cheapest is in Taupo (North Island) Cost is higher down at Queenstown as its one of the major tourist attraction
Insurance: When injuring youself while traveling in NZ, the NZ Govt pay for your expenses in the hospital
Driving: Same side as in Singapore, do not need to apply for international license if you are driving there. Local (SG License) and international license last up to a year. If you want to stay there for more than a year, you have to convert your license
