  my opinion is yes.
  
  i also feel that if you are selfish in some way but selfless in other way,
  that you are living life wrongly.
  
  you should either be selfish all the way.
  
  or selfless or the way if you believe otherwise.
  
  99% of people fall into selfish a little bit selfless a bit . becuase the we have been learning right and wrong ideas form the society since young.
  
  for example, when is the last time you help an elderly carry things.
  you can claim that you donated $100 to cahritiy. but when you see that old lady, on your way back home from school, you will probably close an eye becuase you are more concern anbout going home to rest or do your own stuff.
  
  you should not have contradicting actions in life. i believe that the fundamental of human beings is to be selfish.

  You are not gonna give every female friends a ring isnt it?
  
  You didnt help an old lady carry her stuff
  coz she's really moving too slowly, even if do offer your help
  she's not like gonna die, if no one gonna help her
  she is carrying what she is carrying because she knows she can carries and is able to carry them all.

  If she can't carry that much, then its her fault for buying so much things
