imo,
it is a construct of religion, and difficult to justify criminalising.

Note: NOT an endorsement of underage sex (that is an issue of consent and all sex without consent is rightly criminal) or even incest itself. I just think it should not be a criminal offence. -

AFAIK,
Incest = Sexual intercourse with someone who is related to you either by ties of affinity (Eg. You Wife's sister) or Consanguinity/blood (Eg. your sister).
sexual Intercouse = Some penetration, need not be full penetration, need not cause pregnancy, need not even ejaculate.
Why i think people invented the concept of incest -> Coz they were afraid of limiting the gene pool. This, over a period of time, would result in bad genes and thus defective offspring.
Why i think it is unjustified to criminalize incest ->
You are effectively saying i don't want you to have sex because you baby has a higher chance of being born defective.
Birth with family members for 1 or 2 generations, effect is not that great. Yet Absolute bar.
They ban sex, not birth.
And why criminalize sex with people who have ties of affinity to you?
Are people who suffer from congenital defects (eg hereditary illness like maybe cancer) to be prevented from having sexual relationships with anyone?

I reiterate, i am not endorsing pedophilia or under-age sex. These are different issues that involve the exploitation of children and the lack of proper consent to sex.
In conclusion, i think incest is a social construct from by-gone days which religion borrowed from and which influenced our thinking today. I fail to see why 2 consenting ADULTS should not be able to form a sexual relationship with each other, however "morally" wrong i may feel it to be.
Re the argument that it is Immoral, i have to say morality is but a social construct. So notions of morality can and have changed over time. -

So dun be doing anything silly. And this legislation shows how outdated sg laws are. It assumes the man is the one who initiates sex.
