The reason is because people don't want to lose theirs to someone who they are not going to cherish or love..
Just imagine sharing it with someone you thought was worth it and finding out later that he's not really worth sharing your personal stuff with..
but you cant' really be sure until you try right? So at the age of 16-20++ is the time when patience seems to be very thin...
If you wait a little longer you might just meet someone you know will make you happy..
When you are older probably be more tactful and wiser in making decisions..
