  He swallowed some of the drink but he had spilled some of it around his
  mouth that's why it continued burning[blue flame near his chin]
  
  he tried to snuff the fire out with his palm[which he couldn't]
  
  and he had to breath out the air which had high alcohol content[from the drink]
  
  the flames on the chin then ignited the breath, thus resulting in a "Breath of Fire"
