What is the most effective way of evaluating a manÂ’s infertility?
Physicians rely heavily on semen analysis to determine the amount and quality of semen produced by a man who is experiencing infertility. During the test, the following six attributes are evaluated:
Appearance – Normal semen should be grayish, and opaque in appearance. Yellowish semen may indicate there is pus present and
a brown tinge may indicate blood. taken from http://www.humed.com/urologysites/malerepro/faq.shtml

Blood in semen
What causes blood in semen?
Debbie / No state given
Blood in ejaculated semen (hemospermia) is uncommon but rarely serious. In most cases, the cause can't be determined, and the problem goes away without treatment. Known causes of hemospermia include inflammation, infection, blockage or injury to the prostate gland or seminal vesicles. A doctor may be able to determine the cause based on:
Physical examination
Urine tests (urinalysis)
Blood tests
Treatment is directed at the underlying cause when possible. If a man notices blood in his semen, he should consult his doctor.
