  Here my thought though,
  
  Govt reason for building a casino
  
  1.) Need to create jobs
  2.) Need to control gambling as a vice since we cant totally eliminate it
  3.) For taxation purposes
  4.) Need competition against other countries
  5.) Need that economic boaster shot
  
  well I totally agree with their view, however i would like to add the following points of my own
  
  1.) How long can the casino effect last? After the fever die down, we back to square one. Suppose the positive effect last or i say 5 years, then maybe then we encounter any eoconomic problem, not enough jobs etc etc
  
  Then what next to legalise???
  
  Brothel seem like a good choice due to the following reasons that is exactly the same for casino
  
  1.) Need to create jobs
  
  Firstly, those existing whores will receive employment status if their pimp is paying CPF for them, it also encouage budding entrepreuer, guess you should know what i toking about, where lady can contribute to this newly legalised industry on a part time basis
  
  2.) Need to control gambling as a vice since we cant totally eliminate it
  
  Well spoken by the govt, We all know going to prosititue is a vice and that we cant totally eliminate it, so wun it be good if we could directly control it? What irony.... How to control? firstly we can get all whore and aspiring whore to be to apply for licence from govt, at least then the govt will have on hand a current list of such personnel involved in this trade, Got any problem also eaiser to track. secondly, we could also get all the guy who patronise such area to apply for licence as well. Another control measure is together with the licence thing, the govt can impose compusory medical review to further enhance the image and quality associated with this industry, this will also have a positive effect on the risk management aspect
  
  3.) For taxation purposes
  
  As spoken above, Govt can collect tax from all those licence stated in reason Number 2. Once brothel is legalised, the iras can then proceed to collect tax from such industry
  
  4.) Need competition against other countries
  
  Assuming now that brothel is legalised, our tourist industry is now supported by ths valuable supporting industry, it should give a boast to tourist pouring into singapore where we can earn the precious direct foreign investment. Reason being since we will implement those licensing and compusory medical review, tourist can be more assure of the quality of service that our licensed whore will be providing, that will encourage them to spend here more.
  
  5.) Need that economic boaster shot
  
  Well enough say, when this newly industry is legalised, all other supporting industry will recieve a boast. Example like medical, tourist, hotel, retail, entertainment and even construction (Reason, now that brothel is in shady area, when it is legalised, those vendor will be more confident to invest to build up new building to house such trade)
  
  So having say all that, i must state a disclaimer.
  
  All this represent only my personal thought and have nothing to do with the govt, any flaming is allowed and encouraged as i want to know the loophole for this argument and how true this can be.

  Brothels in Designated Red Light District, like Geylang, Desker, Flander Square,Keong Saik are regulated by Anti Vice Unit of CID..
