80% or more of them marry without love,just for the sake of getting to a better envoirment.They're just attracted by the power of $$$.
What is the successfull rate you will give to this kind of marriage?
Saw too many are here just for PR status,after getting it,the game will be over!
$$$ again play the major role,those with the extra will have higher chances to survive from these marriages.
If not the wives will start to look out for another carrot head
But how come guys still rush for such blind marriage?
My personal views :
(1) our local babes are all too materialistic & you can always hear this line,even for a small thing( you can wait for my laywer letter) do this sound familer?Their endurance are fully strecth by their earning power & divorce is now no more a big issue!
(2) we guys hope to get submissive wive,that's why taking the gamble on blind marriage is now increasing in our society.
(3) lastly but no least,I would love to see your point of view how you rate local babes against those aliens as wives? -
generally speaking the men who are looking for overseas brides are men that our local gals would reject in a heart beat
poor guys who are in their mid 30s to 40s low pay jobs, no prospects of getting better jobs.
I place the blame on our local gals, common we know its true .. if you dont have X number of $$$$$.. you arent gonna get a SG gal.
So they have to do the next best thing, go for gals who arent asking for so much $$$$$ but perhaps $$$

many people do place more priority on things like commitment, stability, companionship etc, for either themselves or their offsprings, over love, romance and the fairy tale passion.
and they ain't sluts or prostitutes either.

i think it's not entirely fair to push all the blame on the girls. girls these days also hv to work and feed herself. reality has it that no work no food.. they may hv to provide for the family.... so in that sense, she would in reality, wouldn't want to hv a boyfriend or husband who becomes her"burden". building a relationship takes 2. Balance the relationship is importman. Even if the lady is earning more than the men, but the men balance the relationship in other ways that reduces the stress of the earning lady like helping out in caring for the aged parents, n small contributions like looking into the bills, doing the groceries, i think things would work out.. but very often, SG guys hv the EGO mentality and that also makes things worse... so it's not only a reflection for the girls in respect to the expectations.. hv u ever thought(guys) ur own expectations... u wan girls who r sexy pretty and dun like $$? So it's a reflection for us all.... if guys r not choosey... girls r not choosey.. how nice this place would be right?

Starting or going for a relationship using $$$ as a measurement tool for each other suitability is already a weak link.
Ask around would a girl mind if the guy is earning less or lower educated.
How many answer is "NO" ??

of course i dont mean all women la. haha. its just an increasing trend, and birth rates have fallen drastically. the government is encouraging ''baby production'' by giving longer maternal leave and ''baby bonuses''. im sure everyone knows this
singapore won't disappear because of lack of babies. but our economy will suffer because of a smaller pool of workers.

Not all foreign gals are monies grabber ... happen that 2 of ex col wives are from china ..who are quite devoted.... and guess what happened to them... the guys cheated on their wives went to Batam for cheap sex, and heaven is blind even blessed them with 2 young sweet SG gf... they ended in divorce and their sg husband sent them packing back to china..and married their new sg gals.... True Story!!

I don't have experiences with PRC or vietnamese brides or friends who have married them, but i share something that is relevant.
I shoot weddings regularly, and last month, had the pleasure of going to KL to cover a wedding there. quite an elaborate affiar, the couple was affluent, and i suspect so were their friends.
The moment i started in the morning, i was greeted by a cheerful "jie mei" who was preparing the tekan stuff for the groom. soon, a few more joined in and started chatting with me asking me for suggestions and what i thought of their evil plans. spoke perfect english, confident, looks wise ok, nothing to complain about, fun-loving, uninhibited and DEFINITELY NOT dao. can u imagine the same of a singaporean girl, educated overseas, affluent, good-looking? wat's the chances they will come up and initiate friendly banter with you, esp if you're an ugly wedding photographer "intruding" into their fun?
I contrast that to singaporean weddings i shoot. sure singaporeans girls are not total OPPOSITE, but it does take them a while to warm up. some never do, mind you, and snuff you all the way. there's something about singaporean girls being dressed up and looking pretty (in their opinions entirely) that they have the right to snuff any stranger.
i'm sure i have treaded on many (female) toes here. just sharing an experience, and generalising. don't come and reply me saying, eh not all sg girls are like that, i know alot of malaysian girls so this that and the other.
maybe that KL wedding i shot was a very RARE case. let's see if i get the chance to shoot in KL more often. -

i have the opinion that guys who go for overseas brides do it because they want young pretty chicks. are they really unable to attract a single singaporean gal? no!!! it is because they refused to lower their requirements. they want young, pretty local girls whom are beyond their reach, including those that have better earning power.
i have a lot of single friends too. most are single not just because local gals dont want them. it is mainly because they are unrealistic when it comes to choosing a partner. -

if i remember correctly you are a u-grad that makes 2-3k. it might not be a lot in singapore context but it is not all that bad.
wonder why you are still single?
are you unrealistic when choosing a partner? this is what i find common among single men. most tend to look only for those pretty, outgoing kind of gals. there are many local girls that are not materialistic. the only 'problem' is they are plain-looking. plain looking, not ugly. most local men only want pretty chicks. are you one of them? -
sg gals r $$$ grabbers. i do music. glam job, high pay, fast life. gals r like easy 2 get. imagine if i was i m a waiter or sales assistant or petrol assistant. if i was introduced 2 some new gal frds & i said i m a waiter. immediately i will b branded as "no gd". no offences, i find them perfectly alright but the gals here dont. tats life. we r judge by wat we do, how much we earn, how we look. facts of life. dont ever say u look @ personality & s h i t, stop lying. if theres a super gd personality person but hes like 100 over kg, pimples all over his face, oily hair, stink body, u think u can c his personality?
