Tour marraige

eerr.. now sure about how to put it properly....
what do you guys ( and girls ) think about customary wedding ( like wild dinners ) and getting tour marriage.
Looking at the economy now, seems like getting married will cause like a bomb. What's the connotation of tour marriages?
I just wittness acouple of my friends married and after that they seems to lead more conservative llifestyle.
Is tour marriage view as cheap and poor? ( i know someone going to say it's cheap skate anyway )
I mean having a gathering of close friends for pose dinner is part of tour marraige. Cheaper ( well .... ok ) as well.

And of course send out your weeding cards like below,
"We are getting married on (Date). As to save all the troubles for wedding dinner & having to wait late arrival, we decided to go for a Tour Marriage. Please send your regards (Hong Bao) to my address below. Your regards are highly appreciated."

Maybe have 4- 6 tables for immediate family members.
Don't deprive yr parents/ in-laws the joy of celebrating esp if u are an only child. Don't worry, sure to make back cos they will give big angpows -

but natural course ler, want to get marry ler .....
recently brother got married, spend like 40K on the wedding and then some more on tour, and then housing and then just recently , the wife bought herself a diamond ring which cost $13K ..... now she wanted my brother to foot the bill .... well my brother is not earning as much as his wife ....which is somewhere around 2K plus. she's a primary school teacher .
Recently I have also encounter a couple of friends who are involved in divorce cases ... so I was thinking what the heck spend some much ? ... If the marriage is meant to be, the $$ spend on wedding can be better use to improve the standard of living ...
I know some will say that the $$ spent on wedding can be recoupe back, but trust me, it never does. A wedding encompass alot many thing than just the dinner alone....
and yes, I was thinking about gathering just the few close family and friends....
in this way, if the other party has got a hugh family like 80 relatives ... then the initial $$ to fork out is tremendous .... come to think about, actually it's finding the $$ to fund the wedding in the 1st place .... which I know most will borrow from parents first, isn't it? -
marriage nowadays is not jus i luv u & u luv me. $$$ is the MAIN thing in this era. so better do some financial planning.

When you start working and saving money, u can think to yourself, every 1k saved = 1 wedding table. That's just the way it is.... Anyway i doubt hong baos even cover 3/4 the cost of a wedding...

So what do you guys think of the couple who tells you that they want to go on tour for marriage? That means no big hooha about the wedding dinner.

I don't think I understand what is a Tour marriage. Somehow I think marriage celebration has a bit to do with each race culture? Look at the malays their marriage are usually done at void deck but still got food to let other ppl eat at a much affordable cost.
Somehow I think we Chinese are those want face type a trait pass down from our China emperor and now inside we chinese blood? Face and pride is very important to we Chinese so I guess that is the price to pay huh?
Somehow I think as long as tradition that are man made, the new generation can break that tradition, our future generation will no longer suffer the fate that has plagued we Chinese for thousands of years
Somehow I think if choose between face and hunger how will we Chinese react?

my wedding ring cost only $80, simple gold ring.... later i bought myself a diamond ring which costs abt $500+..... MR ur frm a gal's pt, is not very accurate wor....
back to the topic, i only have a small reception then go honeymoon... told parents no $$ to throw banquet! so unless they wanna sponsor, they no words say lah....

By tour marriage, I meant [in chinese enunciation ] "liu xing jia hueng".
you are surprise, but I am shock. I don't want to sound mean though. told me mum to go and talk to him but seriously don't think we can do much. It's my brother's choice.
