It somehow has to do with someone's moral integrity to respect the other users. Such indulgence is unnecessary since there are many better means to the method currently practised.

They should have placed notifications at least or some sort of warning into the topics instead of justifying their selfish needs when it's supposed to be A DISCUSSION NETWORK rather than AN OGLING NETWORK WITH HUGE USER-UNFRIENDLY PICTURES FOR DESPOS.
