  tackle that problem head 1st. talk to ur parents. have family meals together with ur bf/gf and let ur parents get to know your significant other better.

  hmmm can try to ask them why they dont like ur gf/bf... maybe because of their 1st impression to them is not really nice.. people live with people must let time pass to know whether they can accept ur gf/bf.... but no matter what.. u love her/him can le.... love can resolve everything... dont give up easily....

  you may making a mistake of requesting break up.
  her parents might be testing you
  
  btw, just find out the reasons why they do not like at the 1st place and get it solve from there..
  
  1. no financial support? then solution - work smarter and invest into business. MAN have to be financial independent, business career got advantage over being employee.
  
  2. no handsome? try to dress up executive, and be more presentable. make ytourself look CLEAN and SMART
  
  3. lack of communication skills? try to talk much possible with their parents, anything... even though the topic is boring or you are not interested in. PR skills

  hmm..
  gd qn.. i also dunno..
  my gf parents doing some unmentionable trade.
  wun say they are bad.. afterall they did that to bring up the 4 children
  n the grandma..
  n her siblings all have minimum tertiary education (poly/uni)
  prob is i cannot openly tell ppl my gf background..
  haiz..
  even my parents dunno..
  we din intentionally hide lar.. juz dat they nv ask..
  wonder wat to say if they decide to ask one day..
  actually quite scared they disapprove of the relationship
  cos we may actually be complicated indirectly
  and also the older generation mindset is always to get a girl wif a gd family background

  sometimes, parents have concern.
  they have more life experience than you.
  therefore, they may know that you two may not be happy after marriage.
  
  for me, listen to them.. see whether their reasons are ok.
  
  i think that it makes sense for parents to object if you are about to marry a rich lady. Sometimes, different background can almost guarantee a unhappy marriage.
  
  of course, if i were the parents, i will keep quiet. nowadays, guys change girlfriend once a year. i only concern when they want to get married.
