A shop beside blk 58 market on fire!!!! i think its blk 57!!! i was there lah kopi suddenly got smoke and fire engine running around. so i went to check it out with my friend. its a shop selling those joss stick and offering items. Bro dragg are you ok???

i was there throughout.
my unit is at the other end of the same block on the 9th floor.
the fire started from a 2nd floor unit. all households around or above it had to be evacuated. the owner of the unit is rumoured to be the owner of the incense shop. the first started burning at around 0030-0100. i went to sleep at around 0340. the fire department had everything under control by then.
sad for the owner. besides losing business, he lost him home and shophouse to the fire. of course the most innocent ones are the shops right beside the incense shop.

the owner is now trying to salvage something from the fire. surprising the clinic just next to the incense shop escaped unscathed.

another thing to point out is SCDF never do enough boundary cooling and like the fire engine don't have enough pressure in pumping water. Never check was the fire engine connected to the fire hydrant or not. but the amount of water they used was not enough!!! its a residential blk! u must prepare to do boundary cooling to contain the fire asap and extinguish it! fire will spread upward easier than to the side. later if the floor of the unit directly above kena hit up, it will catch fire and keep on spreading!!! isee some senior officer and i think the commander of the fire stn also came down, got some young specky oc and got a few young female senior officers. Sigh!!! All very young!!! Got some old ah pek looking at the way they kalan kaboh and act cool, shaked their head and said "mana a sai ani kuan!!!" and some bystander laughing at the c.o.c.k up!!! like when the fireman was spraying water, the water came out like guys shooting sperm!!! shoot a few time and die off. They claimed we are ready for terrorist!!! not even ready to fight fire and its the basic for them to fight fire.

You must see what kind of hose are they using. Certain types can design to send short but powerful jet of water onto the target and cutting of the oxygen supply with the presurised water hitting on it.

i mean the pressure of the fire engine pump. how to cut off the oxygen supply of the fire when its a shop on fire??? this is not a ship on fire, ship have diff compartments. you can seal the compartment by juz closing the water tight doors to it and spray water outside to do the boundary cooling. then u let the fire die off by itself after the fire consume all the oxygen within the compartment. as for the SCDF they can gain access by breaking down the gate with their sofiscated equipements and getting ready 2 hose, one to create the water wall to protect the fire fighters from the heat and the other one fight fire.

for the ship fire, if you seal the compartment and let the fire die inside by smothering, the heat will still be trapped inside mah. then when you open the door, will have backdraft due to the sudden introduction of oxygen mah. no meh? -

as for the SCDF pumper, its using centrifugal pump. im not from SCDF and nvr was so im not too sure wat is the spec of the pumper. thanz for bro wolfo for pointing it out.
look at that night of action. the numbers of ppl, eqiupments involved to fight the fire. the cost its not justifiable. its a waste of tax payers money.
