Visiting Singapore for a day or two.

  Hey everyone,
  
  I am a Malaysian guy and will visit Johor for Chinese New Year in a day or so. I was thinking of dropping by Singapore myself for a couple of nights. What is there to do? Are the bars open during Chinese New Year? What are good young adults hangout spots? Are there cheap backpacker shared dorms around? Any additional suggestions are welcomed!
