Birthday walkabout and dinner, 21 April 2006
The Queen will undertake a walkabout in Windsor Town Centre before attending a birthday dinner hosted by The Prince of Wales.
The walkabout will begin shortly after 12 noon when The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, will leave the Castle via Henry VIII Gate. The Band of the Irish Guards will play "Happy Birthday" as The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh emerge from the Castle.
After birthday presentations made by various youth organisations, The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, will undertake a walkabout in the Town Centre, escorted by Mr Philip Wroughton, Lord-Lieutenant of Berkshire. Her Majesty and His Royal Highness will move along Castle Hill and Thames Street to the Jubilee Arch.
The Queen will then make her way to the Guildhall via Thames Street and High Street. At the Guildhall, she will be met by local schoolchildren.
Her Majesty will move on to St. Alban's Street where she will be received by the Constable and Governor before entering the Royal Mews via the Sovereign's Entrance.
During the walkabout, Councillor Eric Wiles, the Mayor of Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, will present The Queen with a letter of congratulation from the people of the Royal Borough.
In the evening The Prince of Wales will host a private family dinner for The Queen at Kew Palace, set within the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew.
