  What if you suspect (but has no proof) that your company installed toilet survelliance equipment to monitor staff activity eg skiving, smoking etc
  
  Is it illegal?

  Get one of those infra red guns. Effectively blind cameras no matter where they're hiding.

  cos in my previous company, my boss actually wanted to install surveillance cameras next toilet, exit and panty to monitor staff activities; to see who come on the dot and who leaves on the dot; who idle most etc

  Is a public toilet considered private once you are in the cubicle?
  
  By the way there are no privacy laws in singapore, I think.
  
  If you suspect someone of invading your privacy, you can sue but it is more under civil action than criminal action, and in most cases, people just simply dont bother cos of afraid what might come out.

  Very difficult to get proof. Nobody will admit to such a thing. I am afraid 'evidence' will be used against me in future job applications or business dealings. If I have proof I wont be here asking for help. I wanted those ultimately responsible and those carrying out the deed to have the guts to stand up and say 'I did it.'
