Cosmetics are not meant to be eaten as in to fill your stomach when hungry. But of you kiss a girl's cheeks with foundation and swallow your saliva with some traces of it, it's okay, you won't die. Same with lipstick ma.
But if you consume in large quantities, DIE you probably will! -

Of course they're not edible & its highly recommended that you don't try it but if you do then prepare of the consequences
