In the past when prisons were less regulated, it was mostly the "weak" prisoners that got sexually abused, doesn't matter if they had been rapists/molesters or not.

actually it really depends la...rapists in prisons are normally being discriminated cos they are jus bullying the weak..and if they are really so desperate..they can go gy for some release of stress ma..rite? but in prison..when u see all guys ard and being s*xually aroused in some ways, there are cases that do happen..

I think it has more to do with prestige.
The gangster who is in for manslaughter, assault, robbery has higher esteem in the eyes of the other prisoners.
Lower down are those who are rebels against the government, and rules, and are lawbreakers. These are seen by prisoners as one of them, brothers. They are all innocent, so they believe.
Lowest are the sexual offenders, these prisoners are seen as weak people. Its like "wtf you are in for screwing ah?". They are look down upon.
A conversation opener "What are you in for?"
The rapist will be ashamed to answer.
As for ass rapes, it can happen to anyone who cannot defend his ass.

Lol i can confirm that none of the above is true but only the olden days where the rules and regulation of inmates are not that strict. Nowadays inmates will stay 3 to 4 mates in a cell, same thing like DB (detention barracks). Anyway, those high profile one likes killers/murderers or let's say Rapist, usually will go solo cell; depending on accounts of charge and sentence. But one thing for sure the urban myth of rapist kena sodomised inside prison are long gone. The only time where's he is prone to vulnerability is when they shower. That's... if all luck fails on him, he will be severly beaten up by fellow inmates. More like the hongkong/taiwanese show of prison inmates where they fight but not to the extent. So far i didn't hear of any cases of any army personnel being charge of rape so whoever goes in will be AWOL/Drug-addicts/Misc charges and not to mentioned, some of the innocent Jehovah Witness who's put into DB just because of their religion (if u young guys who dun know abt what this is, find out more. For those who know who they are, i think you share my empathy). Those who have "aftersex" change and do not oblige to serving the nation also will be put into it but they're rather safe as they dorm alone due to safety reason as they're "girls".
To tell you the truth, prison is beta than DB. You get to walk around, exercise and watch television. Not to mention ball games at times.
How i know all this? My ex-gf's 2 bro went inside and out of prison like going for coffee session. And i... an ex offender in the army. lol.
I hope you understand more now but Yes... i do share sentiments about these rapist should have a more dire punishment then getting jailed.

Hohoho... Stories? Lol whilst in my job i had travelled to alot of countries and coincidently got alot of foreign friends who were ex-offenders once. Prisoners in SG/DB will be grateful for SG how they treated them (exept for JW, they're innocent!!!). That's where the REAL horror stories of prison inmates having restless nights stuck in a cell which an ex-convict hung himself, possessions, fights which in turn got mad into riots resulting bloodbath... so much...Originally posted by sgquitter:hey i feel pity for those JW people. 1 thing to share though and i speak for alot of ex-offenders in SG although i'm not anyone who commit a real blunder... ex-offenders should never be despised on... Everyone like me used to say they have a heart full of evil intents but to our surprise, many of whom were admitted into the 6 by 6 cell (depending on charge)... alot of them do possess the innocence. Judge not by what they commited but by how they really are in person. Sometimes an apple that rots will not have it's flesh entirely bad, only a small portion. Sometimes we all know just in a rash decision, something hit them out of desperation.
What i said, may not be applicable to some, such as rapistwho have intented and plotted everything. Murderers? Maybe some. Only in some that i knew in USA, they were "scapegoats" and therefore their backgrounds would be scarred black forever by people who condemned them from their wrong-doings...
Just like me... any ex-offender can pick it themselves up with courage. If someone who admitted into DB by hitting someone during the course of NS heydays, can be able to pick up life and earn a high life now... why not others? God bless this souls.
