"lanjiao" = rot banana?

  Why ppl call "didi" another name "lanjiao"?
  
  "lan" = rot
  "jiao" = banana
  
  I believe the word of "lanjiao" came from 2nd world war, bcos that time ppl "didi" kena shoot very badly by JePenis(Japanese), so they named their own "didi" = "lanjiao".
