i agree with u. and to a certain extent, the fight for equality b y women can be attributed to men. The tradtional men has always treated women as 2nd class to them, must be submissive and everything and that women shld be at home and not as capable as men. As women get more educated and society liberalises, women realises that the perceptions that men hold of them are not true at all but yet they still see women being looked down on. Thus, they retaliated. Actually, something similar happened to me. I had some things I felt that I needed to do. Also, I felt my gf may be happier if I let her go. Esp since there were quite a few other guys interested in her. But in the end, I realised I meant something to her afterall. lemme try to VERY concisely lay my views on this.
men's roles haven't changed. it's instilled in us that we have to bring home the bread. we have to protect our family etc etc.
HOWEVER, women now have a choice! they can be educated and powerful, and be a bread-winner. or they can stay at home and be a housewife and look after the kids.
the problems arise, i feel, when women can't make up their minds wat they wanna be. u can't have ur cake and eat it to. how to be powerhouse woman working 14 hours a day and have kids? sure the guy can always stay home and look after the kids, but the woman still has to be "out of action" for a good 2 months when having the child, and it's wise to take another 4 months off (if possible) to nurse the newborn baby.
of course, on behalf of women, i'll have to say, some men STILL have the old-fashioned thinking that women should be banished to the cot and stove. these guys should wake up their idea.
so here's to guys waking up, and women making and sticking to their decisions.
