Its still a choice what
you don't have to be a christian to not gamble or have pre-martial sex
yet you still can be a christian and do the both abv mentioned -
here's my response: if you are not a christian, then don't worry too much about the sexual norms of christians: the important thing is what are u going to say to God when you stand before Him on judgement day? (since our mortality rate is 100%- we will all arrive there- with SARS then sooner, if not, then later). If you are Christian, then you are given power to say no to lust: your effort is needed yet at the same time you are given divine empowerment. Sex is not sin provided it is viewed in accordance to the bible that it shall only be done when a man and woman are united by marriage before the witness of God.
Masturbation is however another story. Let me say that masturbation as everyone knows DOES NOT make anyone ABNORMAL. It is normal that we have lusts and desires and this present time, masturbation could be the best way of preventing AIDS. However, the bible states that God asks us to turn away from lust because He knows this is the one weakness that MEN will always fall into. He says 'Flee from temptation.' It is not SIN to see a girl or admire a girl's beauty or figure, but once it becomes lust and leads u to fantasize or masturbate, then it is sin as a result of lust.
Anyway, without even the bible, i believe that most counsellors will tell you that masturbation can be unhealthy too especially pyschologically. So not just christianity teaches that masturbation should not be done, even secular teachers agree on that. -

simply put, some ppl believe in the ultimate being, while others like myself make do with being the masters of our own lives. it gets weary when often ppl say something, and at the end of it they say "becoz he said so". i mean, grow some initiative for once. -
haha what makes you think i do not have an initiative? I am sure parents give us advices, we sometimes reject them, we sometimes accept them. THere are times when we reject their advices wen we are younger and fell flat on our faces, didnt we? God is the same. He tells us whats good whats bad. I never felt more free. I stop gambling becos i practically gambled my whole bank acct away. and God in the bible says, make good use of your money, so gambling is nt good use, i quitted, i followed His advice, i am happy...that is bad to you?
Masters of your own lives? Try telling this to the cancer patients whom i visit regularly. When you have cancer, do you still think you are in control of your life? I hardly think so.
I have gone thru too much to know I cant possibly control everything and events in my life. Some S H I T just happen and I cant seem to get thru it. Maybe you haven, maybe you have and are disappointed no one helped you.
