all along i wanna use the pills as a contraception instead of normal withdrawal method or condoms. It is bcoz it lessen period cramps and really regulates one's period. -

well..
weight gain being the most unpleasant one
the pills are actually hormones tat tell ur body to do certain things at certain times.
at any given time, there is a balance of everything in ur body, known as homeostatsis.
the introduction of additional hormone can be a double edged sword..
pills fake the body into thinking tat its not time to ovulate yet by giving out certain hormones.. sadly, these same hormones also make the body produce more adipose tissues (fats) at some very unsightly places, eg arms and neck. These same hormones also produce effects like mood swings
certainly it is not good in the long run as a female is born with all her ovums (eggs) already in her ovaries.
every 28 days or so, a ovum will "ripened" and be discharged.. so we can say tat every egg is marked for with a "Date of release"
by goin on the pill, u are delaying the "Release date" for the duration tat u are using the pill.
