IT people around here?

  I hate to tell people I am from IT, Friends, relative, office user asking personal favor to trouble shoot, setup, illegal software.
  I got to ask my girlfriend to tell her relative and friends I am insurance agent.
  
  any people here has similar problems or solution?

  Do it for them one time. Charge them for it. Then screw it up so bad they won't ask you back.
  
  That's the IT industry anyway.

  If is setup a new system, ask them to buy from Dell..haha..just tell them is cheaper and anything got problem call them. full stop.
  
  Illegal software..tell them very dangerous. Govt are taking a hard look into it..so ask them to buy orginal. So I think they rather don't install. so u are safe.
  
  If a system is too "old", ask them buy a new one, if they insist u to buy for them, you mark up...hehe
  
  Nevertheless, people like us who know IT always has to 'entertain' such request. I guess sometime is unavoidable.
