erm...i used to live on the top floor of HDB flat too. den oso periodically got the distinct marbles bouncing sound.
y in the world would expanding and contracting metal sound like bouncing marbles??

Mine was worst.. i heard knocking.. from below my floor.. i can feel the vibration of the knocks.. i though who the hell so bo liao climb up to his ceiling juz to irritate me back... -

ok... but no one here has actually given a real answer as to what causes that "marbles dropping" sound. I would really like to know the answer.

at 1st i thougth u make tis topic to be cocky.. normally ppl say if u hear marble noise in middle of night sure ghost stuff 1.. u still sound so angry lol..

Got once my fren told me he heard marbles above his ceiling. Like as though got little kid playing wif marbles. He say until very excited, but i thought he siao, make such a big fuss over small thing for wat.......until one day i go to his house and realise he live on the top floor.

even if u said it is spiritual beings that causes the noise, doesn't it seems a little strange that they only create bouncing marbles sound and funiture shifting??

hehez... i sometime will heard it too.. my mum say some ppl playing wif e marble.. but to my surprize.. here no children livin on top of mi.. onli a couple... weird right? e toilet one more worse.. where got ppl play marble in toilet?hhahaha...

i heard b4 people say got something to do wit children bone or spirit one when building yr block.....to protect yr block one.......then sometime they will be playing........

to be honest this is the most common form of supernatural activity going on in houses... normally known as house spirits...
my neighbour below always comes up knocking saying they can't sleep coz always in the middle of the night he can hear us dragging furniture across the dining room... the matter of fact is that at those times all of us are already sleeping... -
OMG I used to hear it all the time whenever I'm at my bf's place. It was only yesterday that i found out it's not an independent case!
For those who have never heard it before, stand up, drop a marble on the floor (preferably marble flooring)-- that's the exact sound you hear, loud and clear coming from above you!!
Whenever I ask my bf what is that sound, he always tells me it's the kids above playing! This happens around evening time. And I'd get irritated coz' the damn kid sure makes a helluva noise! Anyway, when I found these threads and showed him, he told me actually his mom found out there are no kids staying in the flat above him!!
Why no one go and ask HDB? -
