The signs of social stigmatisation are not visible but it could be the very hidden nature of the underwear that covers it. I came to experience an unacquainted group tapping each other to look when one of them noticed me in thongs, in the men's shower room. Some male friends gave me the eye brows and shrugged shoulders.
Both gals and guys received their fair share of stares and gossips but like many of you out there, I have adapted and adjusted over the past 3 years.
Hopefully in time, Singapore will!
Well said well said.
I guess I am still in the beginning stage to adapting and ignoring such comments and gossips, although I have been on gstrings/thongs for almost 3 years too.
To make matters worst, the group of biker friends of mine, all kind teasing whenever the topic g-string pops up...and always someone will say it's disgusting of a guy in gstring.
Felt so heart-pain and heart-broken, and well, though I feel proud of it, and totally convinced by the comfort it gives esp. to those bikers out there, really really so comfortable and no more discomfort due to underwear cutting into the butt on long rides.
Haiz...if only we can be united, and let's keep in touch with each other.....hopefully, one day Singaporeans on the general can accept the fact that guys can wear thongs/gstrings and still be manly and sexy at the same time.
