If i am not wrong, the "cubs" lost to Malaysia again.. well, kinda expected it.. even the Singapore Pools rates are so high for singapore winning...
Well Goal 2010... anyone care to comment? Actually I have given up on singapore soccer for quite sometime, the last match against myanmar and if what i hear is right for the malaysia match,, i thought i might try to revive my 'patriotic' spirit... think i will check back on 2010 and see how..
until then EPL here i come.... -

This punks thought that being in the S league makes them yaya and hao lian liao. Though lacking in pedigree than the foriengers they should make up for thier national spirit! -
actually i think we are still on track to Goal 2010. In fact, its not a dream or a goal.cos we have done it b4...remember? we won the Tiger Cup a few years back. The only difference is that we have to aim for Tiger Cup now...not World Cup! So lets change our goal...its now GOAL TIGER CUP 2010!!!
i feel that the society is also partly responsible..just imagine how much u would get for playing soccer professionally and u can only play up to a certain age. Even though u may say that u can become a coach or something after that, but is it all worth it? The injuries u suffered in the past will come back to haunt u when u are in ur "golden" retirement. If u r talking abt those players in EPL, then i got nothing to say. Their pay is higher than our ministers here per week....
Furthermore, i realised that most of the players or coaches involved in local soccer are malays. to tell the truth, i find that the local soccer scene is biased. i remembered going for a soccer trial in poly, my friend played quite well in a 5 min match. He did scored a goal...but the Malay coach didnt choose him.i was pretty suprised...in fact, he chose a malay guy who didnt even touch the ball once. Maybe he got a powerful lung? Like the coach was more impressed with his shouting skills than football skills.haha! Since they are all biased, i will not give a damn abt whats going on abt our local team unless they start to drop their "racist" selection.
Anyone here feel the same way too?

the tiger cup was won because 2 of the big teams decided that they'd lose so that they'll not face Vietnam... and wanted to face singapore!!
so an own goal, intentionally scored, settled it..
after that, they were so humiliated by their own people that they lost their pride...
after that, when singapore played vietnam, it took a fluke goal, scored off sasikumar's back in a mad wild leap against the very much shorter viet goalie..
remember that...
we won because of the disgrace of the favourites and a stupid fluke goal...
it was one of the most undeserved championships ever won! -
*haiz* the match showed some promising yound singaporean players, right they played with spirit but it is not enough...
it is really a sad day for singapore
soccer...though i will still whole heartedly support my team our team. -
actually i was home in time to watch the second half of the game....
singapore team played relatively alright.... better than i tot... hahaha
cuz i never tot they could pass a ball well.... ooopz
wat i saw today was different.... they were hard working, and there was no 'one man show' on the pitch....
they did have tough luck infront of goal... many attempts were good... some were even great.... but they failed to take to ball into the net....
this group of players are much better than those who played in the Tiger cup....
they played well.... but too late.... other teams have already passed that stage we are in.... they are so much better now... hahaha

sux sux even lose to vietam i cant believe it ... malaysia won us quite a few time so more fierciest rivals ... still wat to reach world cup....1st beat japan or china ....

i never expected anything other than scandals from our national team
all we get are players who dun turn up for practices or get into trouble somewhere else
maybe it should be goal 2010 Sleague runners up instead

shld jus spend some time watching them played this noon rather than just rely on word of mouth to dispute singapore team
i myself to be honest dun support singapore national team too and always think they can't pass a ball . but today noon match totally changemy perception of this super promisng U-23 team.. i was simply rooted to my seat and watch the entire match with excitement and si ber tu lan attitude coz singapore is simply si ber si ber suay..
in short i just wish to say some truth and i am very proud of singapore soccer for once... they really lose with their head high up....
i can say this match like more interesting than some epl match sia...
this sat sin vs cambodia..... watch before insulting. -
I presume that you are referring to me, anyways i saw the match against myanmar and they did alright interms of hard work and possesion.. but does that matter my friend? as long as the ball does not cross the goal line, it accounts for nothing! Just look at the two matches, attack 75% of the time and show for nothing, but the oppostion just had 2 or 3 good chances and they take it (just like malaysia and myanmar).... i quote from some of the presenters from the EPL show -- championship teams win even if they play badly, which means, when they play badly they take what ever chances they get and score just to win just 1-0 or 2-0, that is what exactly myanmar and malaysia did.Originally posted by silverxc:hi ppl...perhaps those ppl that kept criticising singapore team

in conclusion, possesion is fun to watch, but it accounts for nothing it you cannot score.. it is as simple as that. SO what if they beat Cambodia 10-0 (which i think they will not) the team did not deliver when it mattered.... -

Past few years of undeserved support for them only bring disappointment after disappointment.
You know the feeling of watching until you so dulan that towards the later part of the match, you end up cheering for the opposition whenever they have the chance to score, hoping that with some humiliation, the pussy cats would start to wake up. -

rem how the ppl involved changed their stand from the beginning halfway thru???
how can sg soccer move in the right direction if they keep changing the S-league rules every other yrs like ur education system...
the attack cannot make it but still creating chances, hard luck try again next time...
the defence also porous...no matter how much possession u kept is still useless...
unless the sg team can decide on wat kind of team they r building, we'll still b the same yr in yr out.
