Man, everywhere I go, I see NS stuff. I tell you, NS has wasted my precious time. I want to go and study and improve myself, not become a soldier.

But We are being forced so when there is really a war , we can see how many true volunteers are there . I dare to say most of the Singaporeans will flee ASAP . SR Nathan and PM Goh will be hiding like Saddam or become POW and gets torture. I remember when I was in NS,there was a blood donation going on and guess what the OC says " Those who refused to donate can forget about walking out this Saturday . " I think they really misinterpret the word DONATION and it's forced . -

NS helps to build up character? Yah, it taught me to keep my mouth shut even though I was wronged, taught me to be always on the losing end, taught me to just listen and not to use any part of your brain, taught me to clean others people's backside including covering backside too. In short, dishonesty and hyprocrtical, and that is really good character.

How come girls don't have to attend NS. People will use the excuse girls have the important task of giving birth, but why is the birthrate decreasing then? And I am sure being in NS causes our brain to rot. I 've been at home for about 2 months now waiting for my O' Level results and I' ve already forgotten everything I learned.

I don't want to contribute to my country this way. They way under pay me. I could go outside, get a good job and contribute to the country by income tax, charity or buying things to boost the economy. Now I have no money to do all these and my brain is rotting.. No one will hire me and I will be a liability to the country, living off the country's wealth, in the end, when I am finally about to pass away, there's no even one small war, my "TALENTS" in the army all wasted...

but i think you got to be 17 and a half to do that... 18 i dont think you can still go overseas unless its some special case. you can still try...
then every year you got to submit your results to CMPB for review to show you dont fail too many subjects and you cannot change your course of study.
