The family living below her moved out over the behavior. Another tenant said "the moaning" occurred serveral nights a week, often twice and sometimes three times each evening, with each incident "lasting half an hour to an hour." The building superintendent said that when the defendant's windows were open, "you could hear her a block away." He also commented on her "steady stream of boyfriends," clarifying, "I don't think it was a business with her. I think it was a problem."
For her part, the student blamed all the fuss on poor building insulation.
