SHEIKH HAIKEL has been fired from his DJ job at MediaCorp Radio's Perfect 10. The rapper-actor, who signed a one-year contract with the station in April this year, used to host Perfect 10's Morning Madness show with Daniel Ong. His last day on air was on Aug 6.

I must agree that 'obscene/ adult jokes' is best not to be air publicly yet. Esp. there r still quite a no. of strict, conservative, iron fist, no-nonsenses Singaporeans around. (Some can't even take a simple joke, ...cannot imagin)
However, shuldn't We respect one another's freedom of choice/ radio channel? Dun u guys think sacking is fartoo harsh on the DJ?!

Daniel Ong got suspended I understand. But Sheikh Haikel SACKED?! There didn't seem to have any warning whatsoever. It is so darn unfair. I hope whoever wrote in is happy now... that idiot... I don't listen to the morning show on Perfect 10 but I've read how Sheikh was soooo happy to be a DJ. Mediacorp lost someone dedicated. Hope he makes a big comeback.
I think Mediacorp's decision was waaaaaaaaaaaaay too harsh. No doubt kids might have listened - then shouldn't parents explain and educate them? Or teachers, be it whoever? Honestly kids now hear worse things. They even think up way worse things in their OWN brains.
It was meant to be a JOKE. my goodness.. Singapore's sense of humour........ and society has been asking the media to be more open (begging for sex in the city, censorship to be less strict....) and this happen?!?!?!??!?! Something very very very wrong here.
Some more Perfect 10 is meant to be targetted at the youth - peeps who are open, and by now should know how to differentiate a serious comment from a joke.
Damn youths now don't even know who's our PM. This is a mighty sad society we're in. -

Basically the radio programs are getting competitive and these people are becoming unimaginative - using sex to help sell air time. Frankly, if they talk less and play more music for the start of a work day, I'd appreciate that already. And to the end, I think Trump is right in the appretice, Not to use sexuality to see everything cause it just gets to a point of demeaning to the seller and buyer.
I used to listen to 98, 98.7 morning shows but had since moved off as the hosts are always sprouting rubbish. I rather listen to trance if that is the quality of the program
The other program that irks me is the "oh too artificially sweet that it gives me tooth decay" Jamie Yeo's program and "put on a fake Singapore accent faker than MJ's nose" S. Walker. I am glad for digital that allows me to switch channels when these people talk -
