i almost fell asleep watching that movie, the worst thing was i went to brought the entire part II, III and IV...tmd
but my friend, a guy, was very disturbed after watching part I, and got scared everytime phone rang at night...

I watched it three times...
First time, so so, a bit scary.
7 days later, watch again coz friends told me to join them for movie, went there no more tickets so all voted to watch Ring... with votes of 90% to 10%, I got no say, so watch again...
Another 7 days later, same thing happened...
Forced to watch again...

Quite spooked ah... after 1st viewing. Felt me hairs stand on on their ends many times during the show. After that, for about a week, I half expected my TV to turn itself on whenever i laid eyes on it. Watched with JC friends that time.
One of them said he literally felt his balls "shrink" several times. Another said she didnt dare look at her own reflection in the tv screen for a week. More extreme case is put cloth cover the tv screen.
After awhile, forgot about the show, until i entered army.
It was during one individual night navigation exercise, and i had to locate checkpoints on a hill. The place wasent too big, but it was quite dark.
I was walking, walking, taking care about my pacing, when suddenly a WELL appeared about 10m ahead of me. HOLY Sh*T!!! "HOW DID IT SUDDENLY APPEAR?!", i was thinking.
Man, did my heart rate skyrocket after that! I was stopped in my tracks. Felt my hairs stand on their ends like the first time i watched the show. Tink maybe unconsciously reached for my rifle also, although din even carry blanks that time. Hehe.
Just stared at it for a few moments, stunned. Then I willed myself to calm down, took a few steps backwards, all the while keeping my eyes on the well. After walking backwards abit, I just took off, and retraced my steps to the previous checkpoint and tried a slightly different route to the next checkpoint.
Shaken and stirred, man, that night. haha -

I think the Japanese version was scarier than the Hollywood version ...
Maybe it was because it was shown first.
Then again, we tend to associate long haired female ghosts with asian horror movies rather than Hollywood movies. -
quite scary. but i was quite impressed. a good horror movie i wud say.

i hv to on my TV which is facing my bed every nite for 1wk, so as not to see my own reflection. got 1 nite wanted to go toilet but tahan till morning cos dun dare to go out of room.
After tis movie, lots of ghost movies being made, especially by Japanese and koreans, but all rubbish one leh.....
Just watch Korean movie, Ghost last sat. Not scary leh.....

if after u watched the movie liao scared after 7 days she come out, then before the 7th day u put your TV high up lah. then she crawl out she will fall to the death mah

"The Ring" has a Korean version, but it was never screened here. So far only the Japanese and US versions were screened here.

Ju-on 2 had a nice scene where the wife slapped her husband dead with a frying pan.

Nowadays all the Korean and Japanese horror movies are alike ... always some long haired woman with greyish / pale / bloody skin in white gown crawling around, hiding in toilet , coming out from some appliance.
I think it's a bit overdone ... -
