Laws on Molest favour girls too much!!!

I think singapore laws are too unfair towards guys and girls are always exploiting the law to their own selfish,unfair uses. The laws should be moderated so that justice can be served.

The thing is, to prove a suspect is guilty, the court has to find him guilty beyond reasonable doubt, so.....
On the other hand, yes, the law protects women a tad too much.
Not to mention so much noise from our friends in AWARE.

the guy mus touch and squeeeeeeeeeze then considered molest? and mus have at least 5 witnesses to that too!
i think laws now are not hard enuf.....
there are many guys who got away......there are gers who scared trouble and did not report when they get bullied....
look at the pix ppl took (voyeur) and post up in sggirls.com and other pictorial sites......
if we dun curb these behaviour now and warn the public, who knows wat the guys will do to the next victim? -

But Fireice, in order to curb these real molesters, the law is made harsher. How about those who are not guilty?
I know of some cases where it is impossible that some guys will have intention to molest, although yes, man by right are naturally prosmicuous in matters of sexual nature, doesnt meant at once all guys are guilty.
Like Sumone said, its best to refine, especially the investigation procedures so that neither side will not have so much chances to abuse the law.

You will have heard of wrong sentencing by courts, where they overturned judgements on innocent people who were imprisoned for long term.
Thats why some US states are against death sentence, because there will be no return if any error or new evidence to the contrary turn up in the future.

I think FireIce maybe you're taking this way extreme. Maybe cause you kerna groped a lot of times (chio mah right)? I've never said that they should abolish molest or anything like that. Nor did I say to let guilty ones get away, just to spare a thought for the innocent ones.
Which is why i said refine. Law at the moment is relatively imperfect, so it could be improved. Prince has done very well in pointing out that investigation procedures could be changed.
Besides, just as it is with any crime, if the victim doesn't report or press charges, there's nothing the police can do. Unless it's a murder case or something that severe.
Girls should be educated that they should not allow themselves to be taken advantage. But they should also be educated not to abuse the law meant to protect them. There are women who know very well that the law protects them and gives great power to women as individuals, so much power that some abuse it. Resulting in some innocent guy suffering and being miserable.
I have no issue with the punishment dealt on those guys who are guilty, but for the innocent ones the amount of distress they go through is uncalled for. I think it would be right to suggest that girls who make such false claims should also be dealt with harshly under the law. -

IMO, The law is really on the women's side. Even in schools, a single word frm a gal is likely to be unfavourable to a guy. I remeber in sec2, this fat gal twice my size pick a fight with me. She slapped my face and nearly kicked me in the nuts. So I had to defend myself-but she got a swollen ankle in the process. In a written statement, she mentioned that I kicked her while she was on the floor and I stpped her repeatedly on the ankle. And guess what? My word against hers was not valid! I had to gather like 3 witnesses to make an assertion that she was the one who provoked a fight in the first place. -

But the issue is hard to debate here
We cant rely so much on hearsay. So we have to dig through the Singapore Law Reports and check past cases, including cases where courts overturned previous sentencing and the reasons why.
If there are strong cases that these change in courts judgement are due to hindsights, then someone got to make noise, for us men.
Else, to investigate further, one have to examine police investigation procedures., which we have no priviledge to access to.
Then it will be a case of NATO, cui kong lam pah song.

there is circumstantial evidence and stuff like dat. if u accidentally touch, more often is just a warning or fine but if u grope aka dair neh neh then is 9mth plus a few strokes. in the mrt during peak hrs, no matter how careful u try to move, sure will bump into gals butt one lah. on 179 even worse...got once got a gal so close to me she is breathing onto my neck siah, i look down can see 'drain' heng she never realise...whooping 10 min show
