MORE Mercedes CDI 220 on the road!

  Have anyone notice there are more 220 CDI on the road nowadays which are the W211 sedan and 115 cdi vito ... the reason are obvious cos they are euro 5 compliant which means a hefty tax exemption ...meaning they cost slightly higher to purchase as the crown or cedric but rent out at a much higher price $126 vs $92 almost 30 % more... all the company TIBS , COMFORT , CITYCAB has launch their 220 cdi version if you notice
  
  Of cos me not complaining get to travel in comfort lah just pity the poor cabby who has to pay the premium ...

  Love these cabs. The drivers of these cabs say its harder to make money driving these taxis since many passengers do not know the flag down rate is $2.60, and turn down a Merc cab when one approaches. Silly them!

  From my regular M-B taxi driver, i learnt that they depend mostly on their regular clients, especially corporate ones.
  
  So encountering a flag-down customer by the roadside tends to be more the exception than the norm for an M-B taxi driver, which they regard as nice bonus extra income only.

  theres more leeway for the mercedes taxi nowadays.. more and more are on the roads now, with Prestige, Presido, and Souverign.
  Citycab owns Presido and Souverign and SMRT has Prestige if m not wrong.. i had yet to take one after so long..
  
  and there was a myth last time that the flag down was $5.40..
