Malaysia Taxis is got wat company? The livery is sumthink like TRANSCAB in Singapore -

Red and white taxis are found mainly in the Klang Valley. In JB, town taxis have a red body but a yellow roof. Outstation taxis can be of any colour, but retain the yellow top.
Most taxis in Malaysia use Proton models, although many outstation taxis are old-model sedans of various makes. I have seen ancient Merc 200s, as well as the Datsun Cedrics and Toyota Crowns (some with Comfort philosophy pasted on glove compartment
) on the roads while I was in Malaysia. -

As for Hong Kong taxis, they are ran by individual enterpureneurs and are divided by districts namely Outlying islands(where the airport is) (light blue), City (red), new territories (green).
However no taxis are allowed into discovery bay, near the HK disneyland.
Speeding and overcharging especially due to long distance are very common there. -

In Johor Bahru's Senai Airport (the "Lapagan Terbang Sultan Ismail") there are special white-coloured (maybe licensed and registered with the Senai Airport) taxis taking passengers out to Johor Bahru.
Well, to get onto these taxis, one must first head to the arrivals hall, which is a 5 minutes walk from the departure hall located at the same level as the arrivals. Then, there would be a special queue after the domestic arrivals gate leading to the counter to buy the prepaid tickets (the fare for Johor Bahru is about RM 40/person ?). Go to the taxi stand which is outside the arrivals hall, show the ticket to the inspector at the taxi stand, and from there a smooth trip to your destination begins. (The trip to JB takes about half an hour, and could be more direct than the erratic Senai Airport Express.)

yeap! JB Senai Airport has specialised taxis solely for Airport transfers activity, unlike Singapore ones which they can go practically anywhere for fares. Those white taxis for the Airport are probably ran by another company.
In Penang, the airport (Banyan Lepas), they also have this similar airport taxi scheme. However, fares are dependant on location. My ride was RM28 from the airport to a location 3km away from KOMTAR.
However, to go to the airport, you can take the normal public taxis.. Like this, malaysian cabbies has to work harder for fares, since the airport is usually have good fares...
Singapore cabbies some how is luckier that they can pick fares from airport

Also, while I admitted that I had carelessly put the wrong dates on my signature, the trip to Senai Airport was originally planned to be on buses from Kota Raya 2.
Sadly, the schedule was erratic. The frequency could be between 10 mins and an hour something, instead of usual 30 mins on the clock face frequency (It was WEF 10 Nov 2005, and I had the photo of the schedule though.) And so my family had to take the taxi from the Kota Raya 2. Quite speedy but long trip though (33km from JB at about 45 mins).
Only when we return to JB (City square) did we took the white airport cabs. -
How much is the taxi fare from Toa Payoh to Senai Airport? (I would like to go to Senai Airport to take Airasia to some other places in Malaysia or mybe Thailand.

Last november, i took AirAsia from Johor Bahru to Penang.
This is how i went to Senai (i stayed along AMK ave 5):
72 > NSL Kranji> 160/950/170 Kota Raya > Senai Airport Express (RM1 per head).
There is a trip on the Express bus at 9.40am and reached the airport at 10.10am Good thing is at Senai for Airasia, you can arrive as late as 15minutes before takeoff.
As for the taxi fare, local cabs does not fetch you to Senai, but will only bring you to Kota Raya. Fare is about $40, and you have to book a cab as not all taxis can enter Malaysia. At kota raya, there are local (JB) taxis who will bring you to Senai for RM40.
On the other hand, the Senai Airport Express Shuttle cost RM8 per person (one way). Fare had increased
Therefore, i proposed you may want to take a taxi to Woodlands, then take a bus across the Causeway, and at Kota Raya, take a taxi to Senai

Since you stayed at Woodlands, you tend to be a bit disadvantaged because of the close proximity to Johor.Originally posted by TIB529A:I went there today. Since you are going Senai, tell you some flight info from AirAsia:
Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Penang, Sibu, Tawau, Kota Bahru, Ipoh, Sandakan, Bangkok.
MAS operates mainly to KL only

And if you want cheap tickets, better book 2 months in advance, if not, might as well fly from Changi. And oh.. if you return via Causeway, cannot buy Duty Free items like alcohol back.. this happened to me once.. -

we dunno how to go to the MRT station so we took a tuktuk...he brough us somewhere and then to the MRT station which we realised that it was just 2 buildings away..have to pay 20 bahts....
then for the hotel case we was heading back to our hotel after eating at the posh resturant on the top of Banyan Tree hotel...the taxi driver was friendly and brought us back to our hotel..heh heh he even recommend us to watch the Thai Live Nude Show while showing us a phamplet listing the price for nude show and stripping show...an example is Pussy White Cigarette
