They don't sell it in HK/ Macau market jie, cause Nissan lost it's market share from 85% of 1970's to less then 2% in 2003.

The version that was sold @ the beginning of 90's are similar to "custom" with TD 25, later TD 27 (Singapore version are similar to the "Original")
later around 1994, they sell a version similar to the pre 2005 verions of "Super Custom--> Colour coded bumper and auto window with TD 27)
, then in 1999 when first introduce with LPG, they sell the same version car with NA20 engine, in 2001 they added all power window, alloy wheels, 2002 added Auto Box, and Tach meters) The last version (2003, has the new dashboard, same dashboard as the current "super Custom" and added 4 wheel disk brake..)
The main differents between the Singapore and HK cedric is the seating and gear shift location, HK cabs uses bench seats and steering rack gear level (later using AT box), the singapore versions remain using the basic version of the cedric.

1996 version of TD27 Diesel Nissan Cedric, total in HK=0 as of 2004
1995 version of toyota crown taxi, total in HK=2 as of 2006
1996- 1998 versions of Toyota Crown Comfort Diesel, total in HK=0 as of 2006
(They are replaced with LPG Taxis with same body but with alloy wheels... Also, as of late 2005, the heat shield top has been omitted, as the new a/c are powerful enought for cool air)[/img] -

Green taxis are the only kind that still have some Nissan, cause of the rugget road of New Terriroty (The alloy is standard) BTW: the Yellow decal indicate that this taxi can enter the restrict zone before the HK/China border
Image found on the web, BTW: in late 2005, Crown motor introduce the new generation Crown comfort taxi in HK, the main difference is that it got a wider left door and a swing out seats for disable people/ elders for easy assess.

Just passenger, remember, Nissan/ Toyota in HK has bench seats and can sit 2 in front (but rarly you will see people does that, even cabbie like be doesn't like a person sitting next to me....
BTW: after talk to one of the agent for taxi, I might decided to scrapped the 2003 Toyota that I have now (bought use, the dealer is willing to take it for $30,000hk (just the cab), I might trying to get a newer 2006 Toyota with the easy access feature, however, one concern is that the front seat passenger door seems rather small (it's the Toyota Comfort's door, the baby brother of Crown comfort)

Well, the license worth about 3,500,000, ( 2,800,000 when I bought) the first Nissan I paid about 220,000 brandnew, then scrapped it for around 20,000, the second Toyota (Current) cost be about 100,000(used 2003 bought in late 2004 (20,000 as down payment), and the new taxi is 198,000, and if it's goes well, then the old toyota selling rate will be the down payment. total payment for the cab is like $20,000/ month, if get new cab, probably $25,000/month. I also sublease the cab to a driver @ night shift (Sunday to Friday 5:00pm-6:00am), ($260/shift/day)and a saturday shift from 11:00pm to 7:00am to a friend ($220/shift)
BTW: The brochure that I got today from the taxi dealer of the New Easyaccess taxi. BTw: the taxi company/dealer raised the price to $205,000 with P - 2% interest...As I can't just buy the cab off Crown Motor (Toyota Dealer) because all cab are alreay bought by the taxi company/ dealer, then they will either Long term least/ shift least or sell to individual owners, some also hire drivers to drive.
BTW: Regarding on the question of why HK taxi has short lifespan, I finally got the offical answer, because Hk LPG vehicles has to do a major check up once it

HKD 80,000 = SGD17,400 hmm.. quite a reasonable price as compared to SG cabbies!
SG cabbies: rent $46/day x 30 days = $1380/ month just on rentals!(expensive)

Well, you know why, because sometimes, u can't even earn more then $500 / shift, if you really hard work, u earn like $700-1000, but alot of drivers earn $ 500/shift, then minus LPG which is about $220, minus shift rental, about $260, that means in that senaro, you earn like $20 total for the whole shift, this is especially the case for last few years in Red cab, in Green cab, usually earn like $1000-$1200/ shift. if I am that driver that earn $20/shift, I wanna die too la, with house payment and other expenses (remember HK living standard is only behind London and Tokyo) We also face competitions from those Van...cause they claim to only carry goods, but infact, they also do alot of Long Distance passenger (such as Airport..illegally)Originally posted by 105090:so buy the Cedric at 220,000, scrap at 20,000

Taxis in Bintan, Riau Province, Indonesia
Here are the pictures of taxis operating on Bintan, Riau Province, Indonesia.
Well, they uses not-so-old station wagons, and the cabbies always wait outside the cabs for businesses.
I do not know about the taxi fares of Bintan cabs.
But, more importantly, take note that if anyone takes photographs of Bintan taxis, the cabbies may stare into the photographer's camera, and shout! (In this case, you may have to use hit-and-run tactics, that is, run away after taking pictures of Bintan cabs immediately!)
Also note that Bintan streets are chocked full of mini vans that acts as buses, instead of Singapore's case of taxis filling up the streets!

New types of Macau Taxi: Toyota Hiace (JDM version), these are 5 seaters taxi, with seating arrangment like (3 in the front (included driver, 2 at middle, and one at the rear)
Another Toyota Litace (These are replacing the Nissan Cedric, as less and less parts available, Nissan stop selling Diesel Cedric in 1998, and Cedric LPG in 2005, the Macanese once are left over diesel stock from HK)
All of the taxi witht the yellow place (Taxi plate) are new license granted last year by the MOSAR

when i went to China 7 years ago.. took a taxi.. the ride was 4 hours, distance is approx 400km.
The final fare on meter? ~RMB200 (SGD40) and the meter fare was only about RMB160 + some midnite surcharge.. -

Just returned from china (shenzhen, guangzhou, zhuhai) and macau.

lots of cabs there
but the taxi ride in guangzhou is a hell
taxis in guangzhou are very much affected by traffic jams. this causes the taxi(s) to make frequent hard fast braking along the way. so the taxi rides there can be so shaky until i felt dizzy upon reaching my destinations there.
the ventilation in taxis there may be poor as well
worst, if kena volkswagen, the taxi would appear cramped after my family members were onboard --- the volkswagen are simply too small-built
anyway taxi fares in guangzhou starts from RMB 2.60 (1 sgd = 5 rmb appx)
the make of taxis there are mostly Volkswagen taxis made in Shanghai under the name of "Shanghai Da Zhong"

The older-model Volkswagen Santanas (those with the small window behind the rear passenger door) are cramped. The newer-model ones (without the window) are more comfortable.
