Taxis waiting for people

From as far as I had observed:
Usually taxis at airport would wait for a few mins before a passengers gets onto the taxi.
Not many taxis waiting at Railway Station (Tanjung Pagar) and Orchard Road shopping belts.
And very difficult to find taxis in Tampines.
Far easier to find taxis in Bedok, but at the side of Bedok North Street 3 where 225G plies it is again quite difficult to find taxis.

Choa Chu Kang area sometimes very easy to get taxis especially along CCK Dr.
Choa Chu Kang Cres very hard to get 1. -
as said, Big fish can only be fried at CBD, Airport areas especially. Those in non-city area, sometimes many empty taxi no customer flag, sometimes no taxi, many ppl waiiting.. hard to predict.. some more bookings can be quite difficult during the day when taxis are plentiful..

I Hate waiting for taxis in the morning and afternoon during those idiotic peak hours SELDOM taxis ...... made me wait for abt half an hour than have.... WHERE ARE THE TAXIS ???

Well .... On Sundays ( AT Tampines Street 42 and 43 ) around 1 pm to 1.30 pm .... not a single taxi can be spotted ... I do not know where they all go...

When i flagged a taxi..the driver stops and open down the window , saying ''Where u want to go?'' This always happens .. -

CAbs are easier if u flag them on main roads... like say BEdok North road... not st3

Normal street pick : Flag-down $2.40 only
Booking Job : Flag Down $2.40 + $4.00 booking = $6.40
$6.20 against $2.40 ?????? Big difference u know ? -
Give you all a tips la ..... when waiting for taxi ... anywhere , look out for those taxis on the road ..... if there is more of taxi "on-call" than "taxi" , don't wait , take a bus or MRT or walk .... don't wait if you are in a rush (if you dun wan to call ) .
In cases when taxi cannot be seen after ten minutes , where the taxi Q not moving at all , be ready to wait for a long wait , and frustrated .
This usually happen in those Commercial area , and Orchard area , and those Tekka area at night , if no luck , u can wait up to 1.5 hrs for a cab !
But once after 11.30pm , taxi service will be resume to normal . -
In Singapore , not all area have taxi crisis .....
In the morning between 7.00 am til 10am , those problem area is Hougang Sengkang ... Ponggol .... CCK , Bt PJ , Bt Batok , Wland , Sembawang , Yishun.... Seranggon Ave area ... Lor Chuan area .....Serangoon garden area .....
The more nearer to town , the lesser taxi problem is .
Problem always area further from town .
Why ? I can't explain , maybe most people in the morning go town , if all taxi go town , where got taxi left ? 'Cos most people rush to work at the same time . -

Choa Chu Kang my favourite area ... I always start work from there .
My record : My first customer always a booking customer . 100 % unchange scenario . I never pick on the street .
No way I'm going to say "no! " to extra $4.00 . -

And the famous point that many cabbies like to hide somewhere hoping for bookings ($).
Taxis wait for people, very true nowadays.. look at the long cabby queues with no people queuing at many places. Many cabs, fewer passengers.. cabbies are working harder..
Anyway, big fish are fried usually at City, Shenton Way, Festive areas such as chinatown, Changi Airport, Private housing estates. Some drivers dont like to go to heartland MRT stations as the trips are usually a short one..
And not to forget, LRT, buses, Night Buses, express buses are slowly taking over what was seen as a taxi-dominance sectors like the airport..
Once saw a cab u-turn to pick up a customer opposite, but at the traffic light, another cab turns out and got the customer, the cabby angry and horned the rival cab..
Yellow-Top = estimate 5,000 taxis
CitryCab = Estimate 8,000 taxis
TranScab = 2500 taxis
Smart = 600
Silver = 800
SMRT = 7000
Taxi will never be enough at certain time ... like morning 7.00am til 9am .... and 5pm til 10.30 pm at city area . Excluding Fridays ! -
I once again emphasis , at 8.30pm til 11pm , most office worker once work overtime , their companies will pay for the cab fare , and they will defeintely call , 'cos their companies want them to go home early ,anyway only $4.00 extra , for a MNC , $4.00 is peanuts .Originally posted by Manager433:Yesterday went shopping with my family. Taxi company are in more trouble if prices lower to your rate . Cos who want to drive ? Taxi company sure stuck with a lot of taxis .

stood at the taxi stand for 1.5hrs.....calling and calling.....got cab liao then no show....then call and call and call.....then get another can liao then still no show.......supra dulanz
Of all places , woodland is a place driver least wanted to go .
Use "Speed call" maybe can work better .
