why cant i flag them on the road ???

By right , you can ..... by left ..... Maxi Cabbies usually don't pick customers on the road . Usually Maxi Cab is cater for corporate customers like Hotel , clubs , airport , ferry terminals , etc....
Maxi cabbies has schedules from taxi company everyday , especially from hotel to airport .
They are the only cab that has got 7 seats !
And it's available about total 70 cabs in S'pore only, so....... don't waste ur time flagging for them . -
Also i like to add , Maxi cabs their pricing also a bit special , although I also ComfortDelgro driver , i not too sure , I heard Citycab ( the owner of Maxi Cab )fixed Maxi Cab pricing @ Flag Down @2.40 , booking is $8.00 , advance booking at $16.00 ..... and every subsequent location is +$10.00 .
If I'm not wrong .
So if i'm the driver , i see flag down customer as transparent one .

Do they get a fixed monthly pay? -

If Hotel customer wants to go palces like zoo ..... they'll charge them like $30 per trip , as much as $50 to and fro back to hotel .
Again , Airport trips for them is special , they ferry and charge by per head , heard is about $8 per head , must be 5 heads and above , maximum 7 heads !
A quick calculation : Minimum 5 X $8 = $40 per trips .... do they need customer on the street ? If 7 heads better trip , = $56 . Every subsequent location must add $10 .
Street job flag down $2.40 , not much motivation to serve those flag down customers .
They are like us , got rental one , their rental is about $118 per day , overheads per day , including diesel about $35 , is about $160 a day , those street customers cannot help alot , they must serve special service to overcome those overheads , and then worry about salary .
No , they do not have a fixed salary .
Of course no bonus , but every taxi company now implement benefits , they too enjoy benefits . -

This Maxi's drivers earned as much as $4000 nett every month , no joke .
Once I heard when those American war-ship by-pass Singapore , berth at Changi Naval Base , from Iraq , about 1,200 marines went to places like Orchard Tower , Maxi's slaughter them like $50/per head , which means $350 per trip from Changi Naval base to Orchard Tower .
For those sua-ku American marines , US$200 to go town is cheap , 'cos they don't know by meter , only $22 .
They complain also no use , Maxi cab is protected by Taxi company , 'cos they're 7 seater . U want , you pay .
One day do 3 trips there , mean $1000 a day salary .
U think they want to waste time on street customers ? -
