Techincal Specifications for Taxis

  Anyone here able to show me the technical specification of taxis here in Singapore? Just to feed my curiosity. for a poor example...
  
  Engine Type : 1.8 litre (2ZZ-GE)
  Number of cylinders : V6
  Valve mechanism : Four-cam 24-valve with Dual VVT- i
  Displacement (cc) : 2995
  BHP : 200HP @ 6000rpm
  0 - 100km/h : 7.5secs
  kerb weight : 1200kg
  Brake type - Front : Ventilated discs
  Brake type - Rear : Solid discs

  i only know, All cabs in SG are 3000cc except Toyota Corona and Toyota Corolla (2000cc)

  eh there's some error with ur info leh...displacement is same as engine type litres.....and there's no diesel taxi that have 200hp,0-100 in 7.2 sec.....
  
  the most powerful taxis are in the order of Mercedes Benz E220CDI,Skoda Superb,Toyota Crown,Nissan Cedric and the obsolete Corona....the first 2 are turbodiesel V6 while the rest are cluttering taxis with less than 80hp

  Japanese taxis only got Cedric from Nissan , Crown and Corona from Toyota .

  Nissan Cedrics have displacement of 2700cc. The newer ones (eg those operated by Silvercab) are 3000cc I think.

  Thanks for the inputs guys. Was wondering why taxis' acceleration from traffice light are swift. And I presume they are 3000cc diesel engine with high torque manual transmission.
  
  Anyone knows if our local Toyota Crown taxis are on VVTi engine? And i highly doubt 3000cc engine yields only 80 ponies power?! 1500cc vios already 109hp on papers.

  I think most of the Nissan Cedric is TD 27 engines, the sivercab one i think is ED 30,and specially design for the Singapore Market.

  Well, 85hp, because it's a diesel, even the US spec VW Jetta TDI only has 90hp...Diesel doesn't need night horse power, they have high torque... for a diesel and LPG, 85 hp performance is similar in performance as a normal Honda 1.5 VTec engine....as a taxi driver in HK, I've used my crown comfort LPG (90hp) and beat a civic 1.5 EXI at the light.

  This model still name Corona .

  eh civic 1.5 have slightly more than 100hp...
  
  yea diesel taxi weak but torque quite good.....
  so can beat the petrol cars up to 1.5 liter but after a while they'll catch up....

  Actually, it's Corolla 200XLI Diesel, some of them have corolla badge @ the trunk lid.
