Worse part is , What is this place ahOriginally posted by Poolman:Foreigner to drive our taxi ?
Hahahahaha ........ let's hope it doesn't happen .
First I need a translator !
Secondly , if i do not know the place that i'm going ....... how ? He also dunno how ? He don't even know how to use the Road Directory , how ? GPS ? Problem is , he don't even know the road name , how to use GPS ?
eg , if i want to Sembawang by CTE/SLE ..... he'll ask : How to go Sembawany ?
"BY CTE "
" How to go CTE " ?
"By Istana side ! "
"How to go by Istana side ? "
Upon reaching CTE , he go straight until woodlands ...... then he say : " Where's Sembawang ? "
Then u all know ?
but ur antics make ppl (including me) disrespect taxi drivers more and more..Originally posted by Poolman:No ! I dislike , not hate , a few type of customers only ....... i'm ok with majoirty customers .
If some people here has a dislike for taxi drivers , please go take a bus and MRT , like wise .
You can't tell to do things i like or doesn't like , true ?
The issues here is caused not by me alone , it's a two-way traffics , without this non-sense , taxi drivers won't dulan customers for nothing .
Why ? Cos some people think got money to take taxi really big deal , and think they must be treated like GOD !
Customer service is a must i agree , but not til the extend taxi drivers must give you their head to satisfy you , even if you're wrong !
Two ways traffic la .
Any foreigner cab drive a cab in S'pore within a week ?Originally posted by oxford mushroom:Not true..many of the Pakis drivers can hardly speak the language. Singapore is even smaller and easier to familiarize....with a GPS system in the cab, any foreigner can drive a cab in Singapore within a week. I am suggesting that to the taxi companies and LTA...so many local drivers don't know the roads in Singapore anyway.
Raise your head from the sand, you ostrich and see how technology has overtaken you:Originally posted by Poolman:Any foreigner cab drive a cab in S'pore within a week ?
Are you kidding ?
If locals drivrers don't know the roads in Singapore anyway ? And you exepct a foreigner to master Singapore in a week ?
Are you kidding again ?
Please go suggest to PMO ..... our Primer Minister will laugh at you straight away . .
Then i think certain people will be very happy, can try scamming those F"T"s by cheating taxi fare(not paying them) yet faster routeOriginally posted by oxford mushroom:Raise your head from the sand, you ostrich and see how technology has overtaken you:

As long as you have a driving license and you can obey simple commands, you can drive anywhere in Singapore within a week. Data can be upgraded to include places of interests etc..With linkage with real-time traffic condition, it will even be possible to calculate the fastest route to avoid jams.
Spend $200 for each cab and you can get a bangla to drive a radiocab for $600 a month. Get the local cabbies off their butts whining in coffee shops...
Or you can continue to dig your head in the sand and think that your job is always secure.

See how those foreign talents survive![]()
That's the point of GPS devices...you only need to know how to go ahead, turn left, turn right etc...It will calculate the shortest route and even avoid traffic jams. Passengers don't have to decide which route to take 'cos they will know it will follow the shortest route.Originally posted by SBS9818A:oxford mushroom, your idea of having foreign talent to drive taxis simply is not feasible. So what if they have all these new-fangled equipment to help them get around? They still will not know Singapore and its roads as well as local drivers who were BORN AND BRED HERE.
LMAO.... I was thinking being in such situation, I will go like, "Come come, change seat, you take the passenger seat, let me drive."Originally posted by Poolman:Foreigner to drive our taxi ?

You saw the problem there ?Originally posted by oxford mushroom:Minicab drivers all over UK are from the Indian subcontinent...that's well known. Didn't realize that they also run the cabs in the US:

Anyway, I want foreign workers to drive radiocabs for bookings only. That will force local drivers to work harder on the roads instead of hiding in coffee shops and waiting for peak surcharge.
If I want to go into the taxi business, I will employ a team of foreign drivers to get local drivers like you to wake up your idea..Originally posted by Poolman:Talk like easy only , friend , road only you ONE vehicle ar ????
Eh ! Where don't you come a drive a taxi for just a 2 hours t in Singapore ?
Taxi companies without us , more will get retrench .Originally posted by oxford mushroom:If I want to go into the taxi business, I will employ a team of foreign drivers to get local drivers like you to wake up your idea..
Why don't you go to New York or London and see how foreign drivers have taken over the taxi service? It's a matter of time...
Get a Garmin in each taxi, any foreigner can drive a taxi within a week. With your attitude, you better get ready to be retrenched
I will challenge the authority , once they get foreigners to drive taxis , i'll quit for good .Originally posted by oxford mushroom:If I want to go into the taxi business, I will employ a team of foreign drivers to get local drivers like you to wake up your idea..

say in malaysia.. if KL needs cabbies, and employs them from Johor.. also considered Foreign talent.. not many JB people know KL roads well etc..
we just be glad theres taxis and buses available reasonably, and cabbies who knows the way around.. also, singapore isnt very big right..
that time went Bangkok, 80% if the cabbies dosent know how to go to even some famous hotels....
