, like some had said , i earn enough for myself than some decent drivers .
I work short hours ... from 5pm to 1am maximum .
Average drivers earns $80-$120 on weekday's evening , minus my over heads .
One can earn up to $150-$200 on Friday's evening , a good night .
We can only fetch this sort of salaries if my job is un-disrupted , soon-soon type , disrupted in a sense , customers ka chiao ka chiao , vomit inside my cab la , go 4 places la , call and cancell booking la , peak period "wait for me , i go coffee-shop buy dinner la " all those nonsense .
I can watch UCL on Wednesday and Thurday morning , and watch EPL on Satutrday and Sunday evening , and my family is okay with the salary , what else i want in life ?
And now , i can watch World Cup and my take-home is only less by 10% ..... what else i want .
Now , our cabby's problem , to curb the rising cost of diesel , which apparently Singaporean thinks it's not their probem to pay , cabby has to pay .
Singaporean want this , want that ... and don't want to pay .

My new cab when was purchase , was merely $35,000 with the COE , they now charge us $92 daily for instance , x 30 days = $2760..... $2760 x 12 months = $33,120 .....
So as to say , they 1 year , got back the money , profit for solid 7 years ( Taxi LTA only allows 8 years on the road ) , what is the daily renatl suppose to be , your say ? -

Yes right , Comfort is the strongest in the market for booking . Follow by CityCab . The rest ....... by the way , recently there is a report on booking service conducted by Sunday Times , and Comfort is second , surprise top is CityCab , then SMRT , then SilverCab , Smart , last is TransCab .

Last time got timing to go AP , got do homework to see what plane landed and arrive ..... never miscue . Got $3 Airport surcharge , worthwhile .
Now ? $3 too little ... no longer a routine , furthermore sekali kana Tampines waste time , and now the taxi Q is longer than b4 , last time only CityCab , Comfort , and SMRT Q-up ..... now all kachang puteh company cabby also go Q-up ..... i changed my routine from that time onward .
I would rather stay in town take booking .... $4 extra easily . -
I remember there was an article some time ago in Straits Times by a journalist comparing the taxi service in Hong Kong. The cabs there are relatively cheap and very numerous at all times of the day. During economic crisis, the cabbies lowered their fares to increase business. Competition is tough and their drivers work long hours.
His conclusion was that Singapore cabbies are just not 'hungry' enough. Wonder what our cabbie forumner thinks... -

Hk is still in recession that y alot cab driver .. really being a cabby sucks and big time -
If commuters complain about poor service, high fares and insufficient cabs during peak hours, taxi companies will bring out more cabs. If local cab drivers think the pay is too low and want to give up their cabs, there are plenty of FT only too willling to take over.

ComfortDelGro raises taxi fares
Taxi fares will go up from next Monday.
From July 10, the flag-down fare for Comfort, CityCab and Yellow-Top taxis will be $2.50, up by 10 cents.
For the Mercedes taxis, the flag-down fare will rise by 20 cents to $2.80.
Taxi operator ComfortDelgro said that this is the first such increase in 12 years, and comes amid a difficult operating environment including rising fuel prices.
It added that the decision to revise the fare structure was made after it consulted its taxi associations.
ComfortDelgro also said that there would be a distance-related fare adjustment to better reflect the relationship between fuel costs and distance travelled.
Trips less than 10 kilometres will be charged at 10 cents for every 210 metres travelled compared to 225 metres currently.
For trips above 10 kilometres, the charge will be 10 cents per 175 metres compared to 200 metres now.
To correct the disequilibrium between demand and supply during peak periods, the peak hour surcharge will be raised from $1 to $2.
This is expected to reduce the waiting time during periods of high customer demand.
The morning peak-hour period will also be redefined to take into account the current five-day work week.
Currently, morning peak hours are from 7.30am-9.30am from Mondays to Saturdays.
From July 10, morning peak hours will be from 7am to 9.30am on weekdays, but Saturday mornings will no longer be defined as peak.
The evening peak hours remain unchanged.
The company said that the fare adjustments are to help its taxi drivers supplement their incomes.

Everything Increased !!! Singapore too small. Compare to Indonesia, Price increased, people will go on street. Singaporean too 'Guai' liao. I feel very sad. We , people have no say, all decide by the top people. They increased, we suffered. This is not going to change, 10 years , 20 years, still remain the same. -
