  taxis legal speed limit is 90kmph.. theorectically and practically, also can never hit like 150-200kmph.... then its always on the roads for almost 24 hours a day.. very high usage..so use diesel engine,, cheaper also, soime more after 8 years must scrap..
  
  engine dirty or weaker due to prolonged usage also not really matter..
  
  but mainly is because diesel is cheaper
