Hahaha ..... rumour la .Originally posted by BufPuf:i heard from the taxi driver that
if drivers were caught 'driving empty' and not picking up customer..
they will be suspended for 2 weeks and fine or something
got those LTA people 'secret cover'..caught them 1
If taxi drivers like that suspend two weeks , than in two weeks from today , there won't be any taxi left on the road .Originally posted by BufPuf:i heard from the taxi driver that

That is not what was told to us by our company , anyway ...... it's not a big issue , just don't pick customers on the street can liao , pick already more problems .Originally posted by oxford mushroom:Taxi drivers are required to accept all fares as long as their cab is for hire. Whether it is 1 or 4 places, regardless of the destination, they cannot refuse to pick up a passenger as long as they are available. Once a passenger has boarded the taxi, they are required to reject any bookings even if one should arrive at that time.
Passengers who are affected can take down thge registration number and report it to the LTA. They will NOT condone such errant drivers.
Someone is lying...either you or your taxi company. This is an exerpt of the reply I got from LTA:Originally posted by Poolman:That is not what was told to us by our company , anyway ...... it's not a big issue , just don't pick customers on the street can liao , pick already more problems .![]()

"Following your feedback, we have requested the taxi companies to clarify their call booking system. The taxi companies have explained that their drivers must accept all fares as long as their taxis are available for hire. [b]The taxi drivers are required to reject the booking job if it has been despatched after the passenger has boarded his taxi. In view of the above, we have advised the taxi companies to remind their taxi drivers that it is an offence to refuse to convey their passengers without reasonable excuses or refuse to stop upon beaconed.
We would like to assure you that LTA take all passengers' feedback seriously and would not condone any bad behaviour from our taxi driver...."
I will forward your response to LTA as well. Did you say you are with Comfort?

Agree absolutely with 105090 .Originally posted by 105090:the replies from LTA etc are all model answers...
the people there got answer templates to handle such complaints from tough nuts
just do things practically instead of "theorectically"
How we lie ? We can't be lying if our LED is shown ON CALL before u sit down , are you going to be satisfy when you see the sign ? We can show you our roof top LED indicator , cos Comfort can only be On call when it's really on-call ? No on-call mean TAXI always !Originally posted by BufPuf:aiya LTA say is one thing..but taxi drivers do is another thing
how many of us would know that if we don't find out from LTA?
the taxi drivers (as usual) can just lie and say that they have to pick up on-call customers
You should clarify with Comfort with this issue , if you know the taxi number .Originally posted by SBS9889U:The taxi dat did dis kinda tings 2 me was SHC 2378 L of Comfort.
LTA has made it clear:Originally posted by Poolman:I once also like that , the customer open door , want to sit down , my display said : " Job Confirm " .
This job i bidded almost 1 minute ago , now then confirmed to me , i quickly said nicely to the customer : " sorry sorry miss , one booking came late for me , sorry sorry , i can't take you , please take another taxi , sorry sorry ! "
Sorry sorry said until lost count .
The tricks is : Must reject customer nicely la .
Since then , there's no turning back for me .
It's either i take on-call ...solely on-call , nothing else , no need to hide either ( get a job on the highway)..... or "off" my display , solely on street flag down customer .
Tactical .![]()

LTA has made it clear:
[b]"The taxi drivers are required to reject the booking job if it has been despatched after the passenger has boarded his taxi. "
Passengers with such encounters can take down the registration number and make a complaint to LTA. Taxi companies will respond if pressure is put on them by LTA....look at today's papers.
