thanks for this thread. i raised the same issue a mth ago. too much to complain abt them... i've decided not to take cab when unnessary liao. i used to take cuz of the comfort and convenience... now they make me very pissed off with the way they handle their work and the fare hike... i will seriously not take a cab if i can....

welcome , yeah ....agreed what u said. I witness 1 case last week at the juntion of amk central towards marymount. The car infront of me did a emergency brake due to the taxi on his left sudden changing of lane towards him. He horn the taxi..guess what happen
The taxi driver wind-down his window, point his finger at the driver & treaten to whack him up. Upon seeing such incident, i decide to blast my horn to advice them to move on, i stare at the taxi driver & shake my head. Its a silver cab
2nd Case witness by my friend.
He was in this taxi, along woodland this taxi was horn by a bike, the taxi driver decide to play along with the bike. He give a emergency brake & the bike skided & rider fell on the road. Guess what the taxi driver did He still have the cheek to tell my friend...ho sei liao, the bike buang..& he move on.
Its a city-cab

Well, i encountered very recently a case of an SMRT 961 BC pointing his middle finger when my friends were playing at the bus stop and one of them accidentally flaged the bus. As no one went up, the BC pointed his middle finger and went off without opening the door. -
driving on singapore roads is very stressful, even more so for new drivers.
Many drivers doesnt give way or considerate for other users
suddenly stop, park on the road, cut/ change lane recklessly, usiing horns etc
no choice, blame it on the culture -

12.30 to 7.30pm shld be $1.00 per ERP gantry into the CBD except the Nicoll highway and the Orchard Rd ones

Taxi drivers here should wake up their idea and stop their whining! Don't forget they are in the service sector. To PROVIDE a service.
They refuse to pick passengers, hiding somewhere, wait for call bookings and midnight charge to start, then don't earn enough, and start to KPKB.
Want to do all these things of course never earn enough la. Then come and complain and complain. No one owes you a living. You have to work in order to earn you know?
IN countries like Hong Kong where the ratio of a cab to the population is much higher, you will never have a proplem getting a cab. (And if you make a call booking, you actually get 20% off ok.) Anywhere. Anytime.
Why? Because the drivers there understand the logic of woking to make money. Unlike the idiots here.
Get rid of the peak hour charges, call booking charges and midnight charges. Stop giving these idiots the incentives to "disappear" when we need them. They never think that even if they have to pay to get into the CBD, the fares they collect from passengers there will more than cover it right? Earning a little less is better than earning nothing what. Lazy bunch of f*ckers!
To be fair to them, ERP charges should not be applied to them. So they they drive into the city area where they are needed during peak hours. And lower their rental rates lah. Read in the papers Comfort already earning so much liao. Help a bit won't die lah.
