Can a cab driver make 2.5 K per month

With the Taxi fare increase i am considering ditching my job to drive cab again.... I have done my sum... be a OMO .. rent from SMRT ...then I will zoom in on peak hours will drive from 7 am to 1 pm then go home rest then 5 pm to 11 pm drive 6 hours a day ... I think make about $100 a day no problem ba .. rent from SMRT cos rate is $78 per day or maybe smart also 70 ++ drive for about 25 days a month the rest of days will rest or just recover rental need to drive for at least 6 hours also unless can get someone to take over !!

SMRT rental seems to be cheaper but i'm sure the on-call job is far from city-cab or comfort. Base on your driving patterns 7am -1pm then 5pm-11pm, you still a little luck to get $100 after rental, fuel & washing of veh.
I only get average $1800 for OMO on a merc cab at rental $120 per day. Daily profit ranging from $60-$120 -
Frankly speaking, it's quite tough to make 2.5k as a cab driver, there are people who made it but looking at their hours on the road in hitting it, kind of unjustified...

Then u must work for Comfort ..... not any other company ..... one-man-show , we called it , quite tough .
Comfort in a sense , have call or no call , still they are the best in Booking facilities , if out-of-the-blue got a couple of calls during peak-hour to anywhere , meaning extra money to support the rental .
Rental is $91.42 per day for most companies ..... cost of diesel about , say 450km a day ride , about $40 , so overhead per day about $130, excluding makan , ciggies , kopi etc .... you must achieve $230 collections each day .
ComfortDelgro offers the cheapest diesel in Singapore .
which is possible , must work really hard ..... with not much social and family lifestyle . -
If i recommend you in , if u want , i'll get $200 introduction fee , u can take it .
And you'll get $300 if complete 6 months good service and probation .
U go alone sign up , no money . No $300 , No $200 ....
Comfort every three months gets $300 beneifts , 4 times = $1200 . -

I can't promise u , u can get $4000 , but $2500-$3200 , possible !
U go do a calculation , $2500 divide by 30 days = $83.30 per day only what ?
Meaning $83 plus $130 overheads = $213 !
$213 for me , close two eyes !
Uncle Poolman me drives from 5pm til 2am already nett salary $100 avaragely each night , what's the problem ?
I was a one-man-show , stylo-milo for almost 2 years ? Tired of no life ! Cannot watch midnight football on TV tell me to go evening shift . -

Unless you drive 5 days , if 7 days , u are not a capable Merc driver .
How can you get $120 OMO if airport per trip is $35 ?
Then i guess u must be one Merc driver without much lobang .

If can only get $120 , then why drives a Merc , drive Toyota Crown better , same salary , even more ? -

My experience before price increaase, 7.30am til 12 pm , i can get anytime $90 , lazily ! Now even better , peak hour $2 liao .
My expertise : after 5pm til 11 pm , anytime $130 ( that time is $3.20 booking , not $4 ) , now with those surcharge ...... even better !
Base on current taxi prices , my nett salary from 5pm til 12pm after diesel = $80-$100 already .
This fare increase doesn't increase my salary much , but it does help on my travelling mileage , i save money on diesel .
This salary is base on Mon-Thurday .
On Friday , salary better , double maybe !

I think.....given high fuel prices......and rents........and parking fees (if any).......it may be v tough for a cab driver to earn $2.5k / mth.......
.......unless he/she win lottery/toto/4d/horse racing/soccer bets in a particular mth -

the booking rates and peak hour surcharges alone can actually form a large chunk of the income already
not to mention that comfort gives cheaper diesel and bonuses and some benefits

3 I don't take walkie talkie like the rest & i don't join any group
4 I don't drive on sunday..its family day & i also need to start my own car & drive around

.me really sick and tired of my corporate life .. me a open U grad with a bansai paper costing 22 K now my pay less than 2.6 k ... if i can make 2.5 might as well works as a cab driver of course weigh the pro and con ...no medical benefit , CPF ,bonus
Anyway I do not have job security in my current job and I work 12 hours a day . 60 hours a week at least w/o OT.... boss just told me today I should come back on Sunday to work as well so I can finish my job! atrocious ! -

Join groups is good , not for kopi O grouping , grouping is good to learn more about possible lobangs .
Like my Limo friend , they have plenty of lobang at Changi naval base , to and from = $300 per group of four marines .
One trip to Orchard Tower at 5pm , then about 11.30pm , fetch them from orchard tower back to Changi naval base to book-in , like that $300 , easily . -

Taxi can be a decent job if discipline .
If one cabby don't drink , don't gamble , don't call-chicken , don't night-clubbing , taxi earn a decent living . -

If you're hardworking , and can forgo family ties , and your wife don't kao bei , and your children is grown up , and if your body can take 31 days of 12 hours routine , taxi driving can fetch u a decent salary each month , so much more than those jobs with CPF , but earning more means must buy insurance for your retire age .
Taxi is about working hard from Mon-Fri , the rest ?..... it's up to u , on how much u want each month .

Sometimes in life, you need to meet the right people & the right job. Just don't jump into taxi driving yet, its not an easy job either. You'll miss alot of personal time for your family & friends -
Changi Naval, spore expo bus stop..all this is not lobang anymore. Average i charge $10 per person *normally i'll pick 4 at 1 go. Run up & down 3-4 trips then go home koon. In-fact i've lots of job but i only share with 1 of my close friend who has been driving taxi for 15 yrs.
My clients are mainly from Travel agent in singapore, Hotels (sales & marketing department) i prefer to work alone rather than joining a group. -
Then why my 26 years old cabby experienced Uncle rant that his income has gone down dramatically even though he got more than enough lobangs?Dun Understand,Maybe now a lot of taxis?

I for one never hope for durians to drop at housing estate , have i take , don't have , i shoot straight to town area , never wste time , sure have people , if lucky , plenty of bookings !
