taxi accident..

yesterday saw an accident at the expressway, got 3 cars, the middle car got hit pretty bad behind, and the last car is the taxi...
no one got hurt... but i cant help but wonder.. what will happen to the poor taxi driver? he looks 50 plus.. probably is a breadwinner.. will his taxi license be revoked? need pay the taxi company or something?

Ok from now on lets continue on this thread if anyone spotted any taxi accidents. Hope the 3 cabbies here (Poolman , seancannot and XCabby) don't mind abt this topic

almost every accident i see on the road involves a taxi.

$1000 third party claim for the driver .
$1000 for the taxi repair .
$2000 in total the cabby has to bear .
Just $2000 , if more , the taxi company will bear all . -
if taxi got hit instead ...... the car behind are in a deep sh*t .
The car insurance company must pay for taxi repair , lost of income of cabby , and taxi rental to the cabby .
Lost of income is $180 per day ....
Rental : $92 per day ....
Repair : see how bad is it .

wah 2000 still quite a lot for the cab drivers, considering they still got to pay other stuffs like rental, petrol etc...
but some cab driver really dangerous drivers! they like to cut lane even when only got few cm, always forcing ppl to jam brake.. i was in such a situation once. angry leh...
i know u all drive whole day v tired and irritated..but safety still more impt ma..

I was even praised by a Englishman for my driving skill .
He said most Comfort cabbies are generally , basically safety drivers . I reply that not only Comfort , most driver is .
That's why he insist in booking a Comfort taxi whenever he needs one . -
$2000 can be paid in stalments of 5 months of $400 each .
That will make us not feeling the pinch .
Cabby would try to avoid accident , not bacause of $$$$ , all because we have a family ..... our family knew that driving a taxi is dangerous all time , so we must always go back in one piece , not in a box . -
My friend's brother just got hit by a Yellow Top Taxi and got hurled vulgarities and driver drove off. Can anyone here advice what's the best option to do now? I've the taxi carplate but Comfort denied they have such a taxi under Yellow Top

why check ? Just go to your bro insurance company and claim him , and let them investigate . -

On 3rd March 2006, SHC2036Z (Toyota Crown) collided with SCR69**M (Honda Civic) at Bukit Batok East Ave 6 and street 23. I was walking along street 23, saw the taxi coming at around 50-60km/h along East Ave 6 towards Ave 1, and the Civic on the opposite direction, waiting to turn into street 23. Perhaps it was jutting too far out, and the taxi was on the right lane overtaking a car turning left into street 23, and when the taxi driver found that SCR69**M was too far out, he jammed the brakes, causing the front wheels to lock up, lots of smoke produced, but could not stop in time and they hit, luckily it was only lightly...
The drivers got out and negotiated for a while, after which they drove towards Ave 1, possibly to report on the case to the police.
A very typical accident, but luckily, no injuries and no vehicles in the close proximity of SHC2036Z, or else there will be an added rear collision.
